When he first got a run in the team you could see in his demeanour - he backed himself. He looked very confident and wasn't afraid to back himself when playing out from the back.

Now he has a couple of battle scars he isn't so confident and is making uncharacteristic mistakes such as letting that ridiculous goal in against Motherwell and punting the ball out of play at kick outs.

I definitely have doubts over his ability as a goalkeeper. I'm not sure he's good enough for us but one thing is for sure.. he's a much better player when he's confident.

It's very similar to what happened to Gordon. Craig looked absolutely class for a while but once his body language started to change and he started looking sheepish he was done. Bain needs to forget the past and back himself before he ends up down the same route.

Goalkeeper would be on my list ine the next few windows. I want rid of Gordon and a number 1 to push Bain onto the bench.

That's for January at the earliest. We have two full backa and a defensive mid to concentrate on first.

    Needs backing from the support.

Only a couple of months ago folk thought he could be no.1 for years, still think he's a good goalie so let's see how he gets on hopefully with some more confidence (although I don't think he's lacking in that overall).

    I still like him.

Gordon isnt getting back anytime soon IMO so I would be inclined to look elsewhere in January for someone younger to challenge Bain.

    * utter *! Been saying since last season we need to add quality in the goalkeeper area and this is why happens when you downgrade

He is keeping Gordon on the sidelines because he isn't back good enough either. Domestically both are fine because we can get away with it, games like tonight we require a top keeper, not the likes of Gordon or Bain.

    Let's calm down, he's not *.

Going forward we need better, though. It was a bad penalty and Boruc or Forster save that, their third too would have been palmed away from danger by either of those two.

He'll do for now, but we have never punched above our weight in Europe without an outstanding goalkeeper, so we should be looking now with a view to next year.

That last line gets peddled out every year we don't make it and it never happens. It would make to much sense to do that

    Pitiful..

Been flapping at everything since around Tynecastle last season..

Never fully in control when handling anything. Always takes 2 or 3 goes or he balloons it out for a corner or throw in. His handling and presence from corners is terrible. His kicking has long gone to *. The amount of daisy cutters from long range he spills right in to danger isn't now and again...he's doing it almost every game..

Looked * poor and a reason why I wouldn't have started him tonight...same as Broony..

What a fall from grace, trains every week in how to deal with a bouncing ball, still puts it straight back in the danger area.

He played well last season but this version of Bain is absolutely nowhere near good enough. Keeper is an absolutely 100% priority along with left back at the minute.

I’m a big defender of him, but I’m beginning to think he’s not a No1..

We need to go into the market as he’s better than Gordon.

Has seriously regressed this year. That free kick that he kicked away was primary school stuff. Doesn't command his area. We need to upgrade but lets be honest we won't spend the cash needed.........

Got to admit that I was wrong about this guy. He is miles off the standard needed.

Better option than Gordon, but he just isn't good enough for the top level for us.

Was correct for him to get his chance, but it's shown now he hasn't been able to step it up.

Gordon is not the answer again though, I'd still rather Bain.
