I was wondering how we Celtic supporters are regarded in Scotland nowadays. Have we been completely integrated into the mainstream of Scottish society, particularly those supporters of Irish heritage, or are we considered to be socially 'different'? I was just wondering what our experience is in modern times, and how it may have changed over the years.

Hated a lot less than the Huns, from my experience.

I've heard "the lesser of two evils" a few times.

I know a few Aberdeen and Dundee Utd fans who would rather we won the league for all eternity than Rangers winning "55", simply because we're far more bearable than that mob.

Then there are also a lot that hate us just as much.

They definitely fear us in the respect of Celtic being the totally dominant team. Outside of the game religion and origin is at the most diluted it ever been and not a big factor for the majority. But you know they are on their toes when they are so paranoid and the fact that the dwindling Olde Presbyterian practice of Scottish daily life and the intertwined organisations like the Orangemen are losing their place in society because they are outdated and their numbers falling. This is obvious to us older who grew up in a more staunch time and now its gone in a blink. People focus more on reality now like bills to pay, feeding your family or trying to make a stand against Politicians and governments who strive to run a country suitable to their own needs.

I don't believe for a second that any other support likes us better, most Scottish fitba fans view us and them as two cheeks of the same *.

Tattie munching * *, but not as bad as the other lot so we're OK, and the insult was just banter too "mate"

As @El Capitan said, majority of Dundee Utd fans prefer us but there are a fair few of them who hate us.

Impossible to give a general answer. In terms of society, I'm fully integrated regardless of team I support, has no impact for me.

I have been out of Scotland living in London (missus from down here) for the past 8 years and have often wondered if it had changed in my short time away.
I don't miss the shitshow I used to experience being in closer proximity to huns. I don't experience any of their * down here in my workplace and in my home life now.

    I like that.

The only time I come in the vicinity of them is on social media, which is far enough for me.

We are - outwith the likes of Hearts - 100% seen as the lesser of two evils. The two cheeks argument is used because the two of us are intertwined. Most Scottish football fans would agree that the Huns are the lowest of the low.

Non football fans see us as the exact same as them.

Fans of other teams tend to see us as a lesser of two evils

Seen the same as the huns by other supporters. Always seen as IRA sympathisers by every other supporter and pedos by the scum.
