Aye if you break your leg 3 times in a row. :giggle1:

McCarthy has been plagued with injuries for the last 2/3 years. Would still take him for 6 months to see if he's still able to stay fit though.

Given his injury record the past few years might make sense to make it a 6 month loan to start with with an option to buy.

Ireland international James McCarthy is likely to join Crystal Palace on loan today.

The Irish Independent's Daniel McDonnell reports that the chance to remain in the Premier League appeals to McCarthy.

The move will hopefully see the 28-year-old receive some badly needed minutes on the pitch.

It is now more than a year since McCarthy suffered a double leg fracture against West Brom which has since kept him out of action.

He was an unused substitute in the FA Cup game against Lincoln City earlier this month and also for Tuesday night's game against Huddersfield but is yet to play under Marco Silva.

The Portuguese manager said of McCarthy month, "He is a worker and I really like him."

McCarthy has also been linked with West Ham, Fulham, West Brom and Celtic.

However, his £50,000 per week wages are said to have been a barrier to the Glaswegian-born midfielder playing at Parkhead.

£3m... could have got a good few seasons out of him if we could have gotten him fit. Player on his day.

I know he's injury prone but 3 million for him is great, surprised we didn't go in for him.

    £3m is surprising.

And at that price I'd have been inclined to go for it.

    Linked again.

Palace open to offers. He had a good season last year, flew under the radar a wee bit.

The links atm aren't very credible though.

He's a tidy player but I don't see where he fits in, unless Ntcham and/or Rogic are going out the door to free up spots.

It will also limit game time for the likes of Robertson and Henderson, so we'd need to get them good loan deals to make sure they keep progressing.

Get this tae *. Don't need any more midfielders.
    Brown 1st pick
    Calmac 1st pick
    Christie 1st pick
    N'tcham 1st team alternative
    Rogic 1st team alternative
    Soro 1st team alternative/potential
    Biton rotation
    Connell potential is huge.
And I've probably forgot some players
