I do when people seem incapable of grasping the point. Well, it seems the government doesn’t agree with you and don’t really want to consider slagging a ginger as punishable by law.

And thank * for that, what a can of * worms that would be.

Like the OBAF act but worse.

I get your point, it’s just a redundant, poor one. You think everyone takes a slagging for something, so what. It doesn’t change the fact that there’s a societal acceptance of gingerism, which often leads to bullying and sometimes outright abuse or harassment. It’s got nothing to do with being ‘special’, which is a vague throwaway argument that doesn’t actually mean anything, it’s to do with recognising an actual issue in society. No matter how much you try to deny it, it still exists.

Yeah, because the government is right about everything. :56:
I wasn’t even going on about it not being recognised as discrimination by law.

My own brother slagged my sister for years before I was born, about her hair colour. She was told it was just banter, just a joke, but it ruined her confidence and self esteem. They barely have a relationship now and the slagging is a large part of that. My sister actively doesn’t like my brother. Due to our Dad being dead, she asked me to ‘give her away’ at her wedding and do the best man speech. My brother ended up in tears because he realised how horrible he had been to her, growing up, and that’s why she didn’t ask him, the older brother.

I was out walking the dog on Sunday along the canal, a bunch of kids shouted ‘Ginger’ at me as if it’s some sort of negative. That type of targeted comment doesn’t happen often, or ever, to most people, regardless of whether they’re short, wear glasses, are old, and so on. Or there’s the black guy at the bus stop in Acton who was asking us for change so he could buy a drink, a month or so ago. I told him no, he got aggressive and walked away calling me a ginger *. Again, targeted at me as a negative. Switch the roles there and I’d have been arrestable as a racist if I had gotten aggressive and commented on his skin as a negative.

I could sit here for a while and give you lots of examples, but I’m sure you’ll try and brush it off and pretend it isn’t an issue, when it is.

    * like this happens to everyone, for a myriad of reasons. It’s not ginger specific, just the insult.

The evidence proves that people don’t get picked on for what others appear as personal flaws? Do go on to provide this evidence, because that is my full point here.

What the * are you trying to even say in that first sentence, that wasn’t what I meant at all. :56:

If your full point is that there isn’t ginger specific abuse or harassment then you’re hilariously wrong.

You really are finding this extremely difficult to comprehend. You’re saying that the evidence is against my argument? Which is that it’s not specific to gingers that things like that happen to. It happens to everyone, the specific part was the type of insult. For instance:

I used to have a mate, ears were * massive. Once ended up getting a beating in the town because somebody called him a big eared *, used to get called Bagheera (no because he was a cool as * panther but because he had massive ears), not a day went by where he wouldn’t get an ear joke, whether it was implied he could fly or could hear a pin drop 3 miles away.

    * probably turned to the noose if it could have fit over the *.

That’s something you’re saying evidence is against?
