    Player registration for the first CL qualifying round closes on Friday 5th July. It's good to see some new faces coming in, but I don't like the thought of not having a decent RB against Sarajevo.

    We could, imo, get away with using Hayes against Sarajevo, and if we have to use Ralston i still think we'll be ok. I say this as only one of them starting however, using both of them, that's when the worries come in, even if Sarajevo are poor.

    Not only that... you build your attack from a strong defense. If the defense is strong, the midfield no longer needs to hold back and cover/protect them as much. They push up and concentrate on their own game more. This shifts them nearer to the oppositions and sees them facing in attack when it comes to spotting passes. The more offensive overflow with the strikers. The wingbacks flow up the wings with them.
    In short, a good defense sends a shitstorm at your opponents. A poor one has your team slower and facing backwards. The 3 we have would crucify opponents if we sort the perpetual leakage at the back.

    You are only as strong as your weakest link... one bad link MAY snap under pressure, but 2 is a * certainty. In a campaign where a single * away goal could be decisive we can't yo in with makeshift backs on BOTH sides

    I'm not averse to another striker. But I would prioritise those other positions first seeing as we have 2 established strikers already and Bayo looking promising.

    We will probably play 2 up top more often but I hope not all the time. Unless a 3-5-2 at home.

    Thing is, I don’t want to get away with it if you know what I mean, we would have a first team right back in place by now and a natural left back.

    I don’t want this to be a banana skin, as much as big Chris coming in at Centre half is good, we really should have had a right and left back in already as well.

    I think the Turnbull stuff has hampered possible signings as the club was busy with him and Big Chris at the time.
