    * * right, Motherwell must of still wanted the full 3.5M for him, I’d offer half that and then an extra 1M if he reaches 350 appearances.

    Feel for the lad.

He's young enough to go again though once he's healed from the surgery!

Foolish of Motherwell not to accept lowered fee.

We need this more than we do another attacking midfielder.

In all seriousness I genuinely feel sorry for him. From coming off a high at the end of the season, with big offers on the table and looking like the world is his oyster to this. Now needs an urgent op and back to Motherwell for the season on peanuts and no doubt wondering if he's missed his big chance. He's going to need to be very strong mentally, this will make or break him.

Don’t even think it was a lower fee overall. Some of the money will have been delayed until certain number of appearances.

Just us protecting ourselves incase he doesn’t recover fully.

Could see us offering something similar to 2 million up front, with another million and a half based on appearances. If so motherwell are nuts for rejecting it, no chance they get anywhere near that fee when he's fully recovered

As much as i was looking forward to this transfer it has always seemed like more hassle than it was worth.
I really dont expect to see Turnbull in a celtic shirt now. We need players who are ready to go and contribute immediately and that should be what is required at a top club. We need to go and bring in players who are ready because some of our most important games are the qualifiers.

We have to back young henderson who has shown he has bags of technical ability and give him the game time he needs to develop.

People recover at different speeds and as with any surgery there is an inherent risk of infection and/or complications. Only after surgery can an assessment be made as to if it was successful.

He is at the best age for recovery. If he is match fit again by January im sure that will be deemed a success.

If it means more game time for Ewan Henderson then I'm not fussed whatsoever.

I know baby are saying he could get fit again and come back just as good or better but the flip side could be he had a purple patch and picks up niggling injured one after the other.
