    Celtic met the asking price of £3 million and all reports have said Celtic offered a very good wage to Turnbull. Lawell and the board get a lot of stick for being tight and sometimes rightly so, but on this occasion we are right to walk away. We have put down a marker to say we are not going to be held to ransom by a greedy agent who may have just set back Turnbulls career by years.

    DAVID TURNBULL won’t be joining Celtic after Hoops chiefs walked away from the deal.

    Neil Lennon had hoped to make the Motherwell starlet his first summer signing after a £3million deal was agreed.

    But Parkhead insiders have told SunSport that the deal is now DEAD and Celts will move on to other targets.

    The news will stun Motherwell, who expected to rake in a club record fee for the 19-year-old midfielder

    I think which many people wanted on here celtic have given him a deadline to this afternoon and it hasnt went anywhere so celtic have withdrew there offer , i dont know who they will look at now as i still think we havent replaced armstrong and need that type of player, need another midfielder than gets beyond the strikers and gives you 10 or so goals a season
