Obviously doesn’t think he’s worth the money he’s asking for if he’s scared he won’t play

I see that the animosity towards the Board (on this matter) has subsided somewhat now that it's been reported what he was offered and what he wanted.

It was all there in the tweet (... for anyone who didn't feel the need to deliberately misinterpret it to use it as a stick to beat the Board with!).

I get it, the Board must be held accountable at all times, but the pitchfork mentality of some 'fans' on here is a * disgrace.

The boy and / or his agent were coming the *. The Club was right to call them out publicly on it!

And we just know that had the Club said nothing, then the same 'fans' would have been going apeshit about the Board.

I think most fans are backing the club with this to be fair.

I’m certainly doing it, and I’m normally one for bashing the way we recruit.

The powers at be called the agents bluff, they look like real money grabbing *, we now move on.

The board has consistently acted negligently. There is no 'pitchfork mentality'.

Thats just hyped up tim drivel mate. Every player has a different attitude. Do you think Nakamura always wanted to play for Celtic or in the SPL? No but he came in and performed to his best and showcased his talents. You are treating Turnbull differently because he is scottish and isnt a life long celtic fan and hasnt tweeted about being a rebel in the past. Barry robson wasnt a celtic fan either, neither was Hartley.. but these players got us leagues and to the last 16 of the CL.

Regardless, we need players and quite a lot of them because we need to rebuild the squad. And a midfielder who scores a goal every other game would have been a good addition. That “limited track record” is still a better record than any of our midfielders managed to achieve this year. While you think he has a limited record, the motherwell fans have raved about him all season and he should have been the young player of the year.

We are a great club, but you need to take your green tinted spectacles off. Players can be a huge success without playing for us. Mccarthy, robertson, snodgrass, fraser, etc have all forged good careers for themselves without us.

8k a week is more than enough. If he doesn’t accept the terms then he can go elsewhere.

Let’s not forget he has a had good 3/4 of a season, he hasn’t been doing it for a good few seasons.

If he had any brains about him he would sign and if he plays well, then a new deal can be thrashed out for him.

Instead his agent and him think 20k is more suitable.

Sorry they need to take their heads out of the clouds.

That BBC gossip piece just now sounds like he is trying to do some damage limitation and deflect from the greed the agent has put him in to.

Dembele, Édouard, Tierney, Ajer, recent 19 year olds who have played first team regular football at Celtic.

Turnbull, if you're good enough you are old enough. And we will play you.

Thinking you wouldn't get first team football here is silly.

And even if true, that you wouldn't be getting 40+ starts the first season, you would surely have faith in yourself and the development you would get at Celtic that the following season you would be.

Sounds like an excuse for when he hopes to get more money south.

This ain't happening, we need to just move on, which I hope is what yesterday's tweet was.

Nakamura wasn't a greedy *, and we didn't ever hear his agent moan, or anything. He left us because of family reasons, I think.

Yes - there is. And yesterdays panty-wetting was a perfect example of it in action.

There’s a world of difference between holding the Board accountable when required and * like a spoilt wean.

It's the agent that advises him though, obviously the agent has filled his head with nonsense and if the lad was smart enough he'd see past the greed of the agent and recognize the deal is a good one.

The biggest problem is airing it all out on social media.

That's the real embarrassment. We look * as *.

You could also say that they are suffering here for the McGinn debacle. I think the player and his agent have went in knowing Celtic are in a * position from that. Celtic are right to no give in and the only thing they've done wrong here is put out an amateurish tweet.

What exactly was ‘*’ About it? You might not like Twitter (I * despise it), but it’s a mainstream medium nowadays and is used as a principle news outlet by just about every successful business and organisation on the planet.

It said everything we needed to know, but more crucially it’s hopefully sent out the message that if you come the * (and Turnbulls team CERTAINLY have come the *), then no-longer will there be a ‘dignified silence’ (look how that panned out with the McGinn affair!), but instead you’ll be called out on your shitebaggery!

Look at the *-covering from Turnbulls team this morning - they know they’ve * up.

Has he refused our first offer of a contract?

It's completely unnecessary and unprofessional. If we sit down at the negotiation table and a 19 year old prospect from Motherwell is asking for more than we're prepared to offer then give him 24 hours to accept our deal on the table, make him aware that if he doesn't accept then our bid will be withdrawn and we'll move onto the next target.

No need for tweets about it, just makes us look petty as * and as if we don't have other targets scouted.
