Thought he was a waste of space at the end of his first season to be honest. He was error prone and even though he was fairly physical he was a bit of a * and looked a bit chubby.

He transformed himself when Rodgers came in. Took him a while to come into the team but looked good when he did and never really looked back. We should have taken the money last Summer, that was a real mistake on the part of the club. You're not telling me we couldn't have found another defender for under £9m.

True and agreed, but I doubt we'd have spent any of it.

What we do know for a fact is Rodgers believed we couldn’t.

The Boyata/Dembele scenarios this Summer strikes me as two of the biggest reasons we need a Director of Football type in. There was good money on the table for both players and we really * it up. Rodgers was just being selfish. He was putting his own needs before the club, and we backed down to him.

He can post all the romanticist * he wants about how much he supposedly loves us, the simple fact is he is a *.

A charlatan who refused to play for the club.

He was dead to me after that, especially hard considering I'd spent plenty of time championing the big * smelly fud *, even though he * up time after time after time...

    Good riddance ya mercenary *!

Great defender but a pish footballer.

Hope we soon find out the truth about what happened, there's definitely a lot more to it.

I had a different take on that situation from what I remember reading at the time. It sounded to me like BR was expecting to have had a replacement CB in, even before Fulham made their bid, and then we could have sold Boyata, but the board hadn't done it. He then wasn't going to sanction us selling him when he was't expecting a replacement of the required standard to come in, leaving us short at the back. Then things with Boyata went to * when he heard about the offer.

Whether that is true or not we'll never know, as neither of them are exactly reliable sources, but that was what it sounded like to me before everything kicked off and DB spat the dummy and BR * us over.

Edit: Should't this be in the ex players section now?

Bobo was being compared to marcel desailly by the French media due to his performances in the champions league ,Boyata will never be compared to anyone of the ilk.' Bobo used Boyata as a tooth pick' is the only time the two names should be mentioned in the same sentence

Agreed, and I was a huge Bobo fan.

My point was, his legend did increase following his absence to the team. This will happen with Boyata and the bomb scares and his * bag, cuntish attitude will diminish in time with folk just remembering the half decent performances.

Fan of your posts mate but you give Boyota too much praise. Always a mistake in him and found wanting many a time in Europe, unlike others you've said he's better than. If he was as good as you said he would if got a better move.

He’s been a very good defender for us. Very good value at 1.5mil. Played a pretty big part in a treble treble. His influence on players like Ajer can’t be underestimated. Yes he made some errors(wasn’t even that many)but so do the worlds best. People are letting their personal feelings towards him cloud their judgement imo. We don’t know the full story. Like others have said it was pretty telling his teammates reaction after he scored the winner in his comeback.

Yes, would score the winner against Motherwell or some other * and * up against decent opposition or Rangers. Wonder why no big club showed an interest in this belgian Beckenbauer for he. Maybe all scouting departments are wrong, or maybe, just maybe, he is a dud with the heart of a mouse that is in the belgian national team for the lack of competition. He will soon be found in Bundesliga.

And Ajer seems to be doing very well without him, thank you very much

Efe was a dud, Boyata is not. He’s the best centre back we’ve had in the last 4years. Benkovic will be better than him(probably is now)& Ajer has potential to be better but not currently.
