Come on... There is no possible way Lennon is the best manager we can get.

This is such a crucial point in our pursuit of history, to make a lazy appointment now would be unforgivable.

If the Board go down the road of the cheap option it will come back to bite them, and ultimately it will prove costly, on the park and off it.

No not saying that. I just think that is what the Board will do not because it is lazy but because he has done it before and knows the Scottish game as well as the importance of this coming season in particular. Let's be honest Neil Lennon has been a first class player, Captain and Manager for us and I am sure he will do the best job that he can but I for one think we deserve better...

Exactly. Lennon is the cheap option and if the board appoints Lennon and we do not win the league there will be uproar and likely so. Flipping that round and we appoint an "A" lister and he does not win the league then the Board can say well we tried as we got the best man that was available. It is therefore in their interests to appoint a top class Manager.

There was a few times when Brendan Rodgers was not sufficiently financially backed when the board could have afforded to do so.

The Patrick Roberts incident for example....

Brendan wanted to sign him permanently.....Paddy Roberts himself wanted to sign permanently.........the Celtic fans would have loved to have signed him permanently.............ffs even Man City wanted to bastarding sell him to Celtic permanently.

But the board wouldnt pay the money...........and its no as if they didnt have it.......they just wouldnt pay it

Celtic is a far different proposition than a mid table club in England, especially with the pressure of 10 in a row.

I thought Guardiola vetoed the deal when it was pretty much done, then he came back on loan. I'm not sure if Celtic went back in the summer he went to Girona.

Agreed a lot of his signings turned out to be duds. But i think as much as his trophy haul proved was that he would have brought us to another level if he had got the money he needed to do it.

Sinclair was on fire in his first year. Dembelle too and he turned out to be the best piece of business ever for us. He turned James Forrest's career right around. If he'd have had money to be signing players and no getting them in on loan...he'd have nailed down Paddy Roberts..he'd have got John McGinn....etc etc.

The board * him over on countless occasions.....and he walked......well done Peter Lawell and Dermot Desmond. If your gonna rip the pish out of someone when they have never ripped the pish out of you ever......then they wont accept it......they'll walk.........which is what he did

    Nonsense.

We offered a deal to City that was accepted, Guardiola rejected it.

Roberts then declined to come back to us on loan, instead headed for Spain.

That may have been the final outcome. But that saga ran for ages and ages. All Celtic had to do in the first place was pay the money that was asked.....it wouldnt have ran that long....and Roberts wouldnt have ended up in Spain.

Same with the John McGinn incident. Celtic board ripped the pish....holding out for the cheapest deal possible....like a Jakey at the supermaket reduced section...........and then we lost out on him too. No wonder Rodgers was feeling * off

Looks like Rafa is signing a contract with Newcastle, from what's left I'd go with AVB rather than Lennon or Moyes.

Might have missed a trick with Steve Clarke

I think the Steve Clarke option was off the table as soon as he started crying at being called a * *.

I can't understand people talking about preferring Clarke over Moyes. Clarke was sacked at West Brom and Reading although he has done very well at Kilmarnock. He is a good coach. But is he better than Moyes? Not for me. A few bad career choices can make you yesterdays man very quickly but he is still a very good manager. Compared to Clarke his CV is stellar.

In all honesty I think Lennon will get the job by default.

Rafa - we tried with a 1 year rolling contract but he signed a new deal with Newcastle

Jose - We offered him 5k a week and he knocked it back.

AVB - we offered him a 1 year rolling contract at 2k a week, but he told us to * off.

Moyes - we offered him a contract but he took a job in England.

Neil was always our first choice. Welcome Home. Oh by the way you can’t sign anyone until we sell someone and have to wait till after the champions league qualifying games.
