Still only 24 hitting his prime for a CB, class today hopefully not another false dawn.

I am not being harsh on him, he played well, but Aberdeen offered * all. Credit to Lenny, the attitude and aptitude of the players was right from the start, but McInnes got it all wrong. Again. I am still baffled why he doesn't get more criticism. Aberdeen's only tactic today was physicality. I love physicality in football, the game needs more of it, but that can't be the only tactic a team uses.
We all know what Jozo's weaknesses are, Aberdeen did nothing to expose them. That's not criticising him at all, it is criticising them.

Aye, I reckon it is. Lenny tends to defend the space, positionally and chokes off the opposition. He doesn’t press as much as Rodgers does, but he sets his team up defensively like he played just closing the options of the pass and then snuffing out the danger when he’s isolated players.

There’s a reason we had a record number of cleansheeta under him, it’s clever as *.

It is being harsh, he is a major reason for why they didn’t offer anything. He deserves that credit.

He deserves credit for playing well, but I don't think he was a major reason they didn't offer anything. I think that reason was sent to the stands in the second-half.

Just always felt that people go over the top with him. People will defend Boyata and Sinclair then put the boot in to the Jozo. I think he's a steady Eddie type

That step over at the edge of the box. :56: And he should’ve * Morelos more cleanly with that elbow. :84:

He has been excellent at times, and an absolute disgrace at others..

Let’s hope he can get that consistency going mate.

Mad he's played 79 times for us and I'm still none the wiser about how good he is.

Clearly has ability but has a mistake in him I feel and he's absolutely plagued with injuries. Hopefully we get a full season out of him next year. We'll probably need him.

He could of scored two utter belters today.

at 24, there is still room for growth. We'll just have to wait and see.

If it does turn out to be real, he and Ajer look like an agile and dynamic pairing.

    Overall I like him

Admittedly, THAT challenge on miller sways me every time. But overall there is something in there. He's had some quality moments for us, some not so. He's been injured more than we would like and his inability (because of said injuries) to play on a plastic pitch means we see less/gets less of a run than needed.

For me, I'd keep him as part of a CB group of 4. Jozo, ajer, a benkovic X2 would be ideal for going forward.

See, although he does, the mistakes he makes are never ridiculous, bombscare like ones Boyata makes. I've said it once and I will say it again. I would rather have a fully fit Simunovic in my team than a fully fit Boyata.

Its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

IF jozo can gather some momentum and keep his form up its a major plus for us. After all, when hes good... hes very good.

The inevitable downside is that with continued good performances we wont see a new CB of the obvious quality we need. Lawell will point to his form, a first pick pairing of jozo and ajer... and a perfunctory 1-1.5m pound cb who is basically Hendry mkll.

Fate... will inevitably lead to an injury to jozo pre season... ajer too... and as we always haggle over 100k's until the last * minute to signing any * we will go into euro qualifiers with a cb pairing of hendry and lustig (having been given a new extention because we couldn't find a Rb either.

But yeah jozo was good today. Hope he keeps it up

Looked a different player today, really hope this is finally the making of him and cements a starting place next to Ajer if he stays consistent. Excellent on the ball and his aggression to win every ball is quality, please keep it up Jozo!
