Been a brilliant servant but his time is up, even as back-up. Ralston as back-up and a new RB will do until January.

How bad is his injury btw? Didn't see the Sweden game I just heard he got subbed off injured in the 24th minute.

As much as Lustig is done I don't rate that * Toljan. Wouldn't start him against the huns. He's basically a poor mans Tavernier.

It's probably a blessing in disguise that Lustig will miss the huns game, he would have got ripped a new one by Kent.
Toljan will have Kent in his back pocket.
    Wait and see.

Mikael Lustig admits he faces a fight to be fit for Celtic's pivotal Premiership clash with Rangers.

The defender was injured and came off in the first half during Sweden’s 2-1 Euro 2020 qualification win over Romania at the weekend and he is a big doubt for Tuesday’s game with Norway.

Lustig, who is out of contract in the summer, has less than a week to be ready for Rangers.

And he said: “At first, I thought it was an ordinary thigh knock and that I could run it off.

“But then I started to feel it and looked down to see that it was swollen.

“I tried to play on, but the longer the game went, the more difficult it became to run.

“It hurts and I don’t know how long it can last.

“It is borderline for Tuesday, but it is clear that we will do everything to make me fit.”

Asked about the Old Firm, Lustig added: “It’s a big game that I want to play in, but we will see.

"First of all, I have to get fit for Norway. That seems far away right now, but you never know.

Kent is quick, so I'm not sure I'd start ML on Sunday.

Lustig has the experience , Toljan hasn't convinced so far so would rather start Lustig ,even though he got skinned the last game by Kent, hopefully they wont be doing much attacking.

I hope he gets the 12 month extension. Will be a good guy to have around the squad with the likes of Ralston benefitting from Mika’s Experience. We all said Broony was done 2 years ago and he is still top of his game. I’d say Lustig would need to retire internationals to prolong with us. He is only 32.

I don’t see the point in keeping him beyond the summer. He will be a high earner and his lack of pace and injuries have caught up with him, despite his experience and commitment to the club. Free up his wages to sign a permanent right back, with Ralston and Gamboa as back up.

    I wouldn’t renew either.

As you say he’s likely one of our higher earners and hasn’t been putting in the performances to reflect that for a long time now.

Gamboa is off in the summer mate.

Yeah just Ralston left come the summer.

Perez as well actually but feknose if we’ll give him a chance or just loan him back to America.

    Nae idea mate.

Would have preferred if we kept him and let him play for the reserves over Wallace Duffy.

Think him and Gutman are still finishing their studies.
