Then the board really shouldn't have released that statement, if it's all part of respect.

Clarke and the likes of Moyes would fold in the Celtic job, no doubts about that , we need a leader and winner if rodgers is off - Lennon.

Makes no change to Weah and Burke really, we have them till the end of the season that won’t change. I’d imagine it significantly harms our chances of getting Weah for another season however.

Thank you for the memories, Brendan.

I have always sensed that his self-professed love of Celtic was disingenuous, and so it proves: no Celtic supporter would walk out on the club at this point in time.

Sorry but he's gone, there isn't a song and dance about nothing- I'm sure if he wanted to go quietly he could've. Rodgers knows exactly what he's getting with them so there will be 0 hiccups, your point about 'bills to pay' is ridiculous- he was on 45 grand a week here and has properties all across the UK, not to mention his 17.5m pay out to him and his staff at Liverpool- he isn't struggling financially. Look I can understand he is more than likely getting 'bored' of playing the same 11 teams (something I think the SPFL should be expanding on), but he's got to do the respectful thing, not just for himself but for the fans and players and see it out until the rest of the season.

Not very happy about him leaving in the middle of the season. Would have been far better if he'd seen it out. Don't think doing that reflects very well on him.

Disappointed, even if you could see it coming.

Reading this article here saying the board didnt want him to leave it was Rodgers himself.

"Brendan has indicated to the Club that this is an opportunity he wishes to investigate further and therefore, very reluctantly, the Club has granted him permission to speak to Leicester City."

Rodgers was due to speak to the media at 1pm this afternoon to preview tomorrow night's Premiership clash at Hearts but that conference has now been cancelled.

It’s expected Rodgers will take trusted backroom staff Chris Davies, Glen Driscoll and Kolo Toure with him to the King Power Stadium.

It’s been a lightning turn of events which is sure to stun Celtic supporters, who had expected Rodgers to at least see out the season at Parkhead and complete the treble Treble.

The Celtic board desperately wanted to keep Rodgers, but the Northern Irishman made it clear he wanted to speak to Leicester.

Depending on who we get in to replace him I think it harms our influence in the transfer market altogether.
