    I was supposed to be stopping the horses

    But have put a cheeky wee bet on it.

    "Cross Fire" 4:10 at Southwell. Looks nice. Theodore ladd has a 5lb claim and the horse has good form over c&d. Nice ew wager.

    But you got me. I used to put a lot of time into this. I had at 60% success rate. But in the end the bookie wins.

    It takes a lot of time to study the trainers form, the horse, the jockey & the track. Rebecca menzies won me a fair amount of cash but the bookie soon catches up with you, the odds go down once they catch on.

    You just end up chasing the profit. It's worse than working for a living.

    Having said that I did have a 100/1 get a place a few weeks ago that paid out at 20/1. Was on a pub on Killie. Bought everyone in there a beer. And still had plenty left after.

    But it's a mugs game. The bookie always wins in the long term

    Having said all that, I'll kiss ya if this double comes in!
