Did the stars ever align for them to get a result...

    Stating the obvious first:

    1) Tierney out
    2) McGregor wasted at left back
    3) Rogic made to miss the game against his will
    4) Edouard unfit for 90, or at least not selected
    5) Griffiths on leave
    6) Benkovic injured in first half
    7) having to play both Brown and Ntcham when neither should be in the team right now
    8) their goal was a deflection, although they deserved 3 points no doubt

Despite all those factors, we should still be beating them.

All those things are frustrating, but what’s enraging is the shift the players on the field put in. Absolutely GUTLESS bar McGregor, Gordon, and Christie for me. I wouldn’t be hard on Johnston either, young and had very little service - but at least plays on the front foot and with confidence.

Johnston never bottled it, he was the wrong choice, we needed a player to make the ball stick, it is unreasonable to expect a youngster who is not that big to do that in a huge derby game.

I cannae wait for their players to come out with * like 'you won't knock us off the top' or 'it was like playing St Mirren' or 'we have nothing to fear'.

Talk as much as you want. I guarantee you Celtic Park will be a different story with our players getting intae them. The fans and manager won't allow for anything else after that poor display.

Yet again, we run into trouble trying to recycle possession through the back line. There was not enough clearances under pressure, not enough long-range passes and through balls to our front 3. Sometimes, skipping the midfield is logical.

Thing that winds me up the most is when folk say things like ‘if they attack us, we’ll hammer them!’

If anybody attack’s us, or presses high, we seem unable to function & cannae make a * 5 yard pass.
We’ve seen it too many times this season already against Hearts, Hibs, Killie, Salzburg (Huge gulf in class obviously) and now the Huns.

I would never be confident against a team that plays like that, no matter the quality. We’re a far superior team to everybody in that list, minus Salzburg, yet we look like scared wee boys against teams that press high & come all-out attack against us.

I was hoping the Huns would sit back yesterday & try absorb any pressure, but as I said a good few pages back, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind Gerrard’s team talk changed after he seen our starting 11.

Every manager in our league will be working on ways to nullify the likes of McGregor on the build up to the game.
Rodgers done the job for Gerrard yesterday by putting him at * LB & taking away any threat through the midfield. * mind boggling decision.
Add the fact KT & Eddy are sitting on the bench and the Huns already have a massive boost before a balls even kicked.

    We were absolutely pathetic yesterday.

Players should be ashamed of that performance & Rodgers should take a right good look at himself.

We lost a game , i'd hate to see the reaction of some if we lost a trophy. What we've done the last 2 seasons is out of the ordinary hard to keep that level up especially first season where we never even got beat. League is most important not bothered by Scottish cup.

Ach never mind. The phrase 'every dog has it's day' springs to mind. I though them celebrating a win would really anger me, really hurt me. It does, of course, but part of me found it funny. I understand their relief at FINALLY managing to get a result against us, but they celebrated like they'd won something.

Every one of their players were at it, we had a real off day, it can happen. Regroup, refresh, recruit and go on to get 8 in a row. Issues started to creep in last season and we haven't done enough to eradicate any signs of complacency. Now we have to act pretty urgently.

Did anyone else get the impression that felt like a European away performance the
    team put it yesterday.
Definitely think with our small support there got to alot of the players and with them giving Celtic no time on the ball affected our play .
