Like Gyp said in the match thread we should have offered him a new contract at half time while the * was still out of it.

Thinking on it. Perhaps they already have a deal for Boyata therefore he's not being risked. On the back of this maybe.....just maybe Brendan's been given the go ahead to sign some players on the back of the Boyata money. He's wasting no time going to see someone today. Forget Boyata staying at Celtic it's just not going to happen.

With Ajer out I do worry he will however I think Bitton is training and I think even though a midfielder he would get the nod above hendry. (I hope I have not jinxed it)

    I was semi-joking with that.

Should Ajer not be fit enough, it will be Bozo that partners Benkovic.

Until he gets injured of course...

They didn't say and they don't seem to have leaked it so obviously keeping hush hush. It also tells me Boyata has pretty much been sold and the money is going right out but they want to keep quiet that Boyata is out or they want their sale completed before selling him.
At least it is proactive, I just hope he hasn't taken the plane to Manchester

By far his best form for us this season and the c*** somehow manages to miss our two biggest European games. At least this injury does seem to be genuine.

Dedryck Boyata is a major doubt for next week’s conclusive Europa League tie against Salzburg.

The Belgian defender required six stitches after a clash of heads with Aberdeen’s Gary MacKay-Steven in the Betfred League Cup final on Sunday but it is a slight hamstring strain is what is expected to keep him sidelined now.

Celtic need just one point from the game to head into the knockout stages, with Austrians Salzburg already guaranteed entry into the latter games of the tournament.

Boyata ruled himself out of Celtic’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers against AEK Athens this summer after the Parkhead side rejected a £9m offer from Fulham. Since then, however, he has been a mainstay of Celtic’s backline and has formed an impressive partnership with 21-year-old Filip Benkovic who is on loan from Leicester.

"Dedryck has a slight hamstring injury, thankfully it's not too serious and we will see how he is over the next couple of weeks but he won't be available for the next few games,” said Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.

I read something online there about big Dedders having a picture of a contract on his Instagram story or something along those lines...

He'll sign it, then it'll come out that he's torn his hamstring and out for the season. Textbook Celtic. :54: :giggle1:

If Benkovic gets injured I will cry. He is VITAL for us right now.
Hopefully Brendan can get a couple of high quality CB's in in January.
    When is Ajer due back?

Boyata has looked excellent in recent weeks. He's turning his reputation around with good performances. Winning the ball in the air. Confident on possession, keeps it simple. He looks like he's bulked out as well. He's turning his reputation around and I'm prepared to give him a second chance I hope he puts pen to paper. I think we've won nine trophies since Boyata came here. His early performances in Europe Molde away, Mallmo, were shocking though. He's making up for them by winning us points now but again. Another injury to the celtic CBs. At one point I would have torn every one of their contacts up. Now we've hit form I reckon I was too harsh on them letting us down.
