How the * am I being ignorant? Do tell me. Is science wrong on this and where does it all stop?

You said you can make all the studies you want but nothing will change “basic science”. Scientific method is about the search for truth and the ability to accept that previously held knowledge could be wrong in the future, if there is sufficient evidence to support it.

No-one is disputing that people are (almost always) born either with male or female genitalia. There is clearly more to gender identity than being a male or a female, however. If the majority of our society can accept that people can be attracted to the same *, then I struggle to understand why they can’t even begin to have a discussion on gender identity.

If you refuse to educate yourself on the opposing view to your own, then you are being ignorant and suffering from confirmation bias.

One of the reasons I posted this here is because I knew some would be opposed to it, so I could hopefully read and learn from different points of view.

I’ve read things such as “glassgender” - described as a very sensitive and fragile gender - before and I had the same reaction as you. But I do accept that some people don’t feel completely male or completely female. I do think it’s something worth discussing and learning about.

Are you born male or female at birth? Unless there’s a study showing babies in the womb are gender neutral that is.

Well it’s a known fact then which is my point. Fair enough people may be different when growing up and not feel either or, but let’s not start telling children who are very impressionable that there is actually another gender when there physically isn’t.

Gender isn’t just about physicality, that’s the point.

Aye the point of certain studies and people whom identify as such, it’s a shame we never had gender neutrality throughout history and we could all just die out.

You really need to do some reading on the subject.

Gender neutrality wouldn’t stop procreation, what a terrible point.

I've yet to meet someone who's gender neutral/non binary who isn't at least a little mentally unstable, that's not to say there aren't loads out there that arent, just from my experiences they tend to be. Now as you've pointed you that could be attributed to discrimination bullying etc, but from what I've seen myself, rather than studies I've read, I think for many people there is a link between gender identity and mental health. I think in atleast some ofthe cases, gender indentity is being used as a tool for these people to feel different and special, as if their part of animportant movement. That's not me saying that gender identity is a load of rubbish, I don't personally understand it but thats because it's not something I have thought about for myself. I do think there are some people who are genuinely conflicted regarding their gender, but I've no doubt at all that a large number of gender neutral/non binary/pansexual etc etc people have chosen to be that way. Absolutely sure of it. Confused teenagers.

Again, not all of them. But definitely a good number.

Yeah I’d say it definitely is. Doesn’t mean that it should be brushed aside as being meaningless though.

I am asking if they identify as non gender then surely they wouldn’t want to use certain aspects of a gender they don’t identify with. Ie a non gender person giving birth or donating sperm. Those are seen as traits of either a woman or a man.

Why wouldn’t they want to procreate, if they have the ability to?

Some will, some won’t. Comes down to a choice, the same as it does for most people.

If someone identifies as non-binary, I don’t think it should mean that they should deny themselves sexual pleasure or procreation just because they don’t fit in with stereotypical gender roles.

    Seems a little hypocritical imo.
