Shaping up to be a really good season in Spain.

Atletico keeping Griezmann, Diego Costa more settled in and adding two big players in Lemar and Gelson Martins who will add pace and creativity going forward which they never really had before other than Griezmann all their other players even full-backs were more slower hardworking players now they have genuine pace for the counter if they need it.

Barcelona have signed Lenglet, Vidal, Arthur, Malcom and have Rafinha back who was very good for them before although remains to be seen if they keep him around. Good additions considering they've only really lost Iniesta and Paulinho.

Real Madrid without Ronaldo may be better to watch also, takes a bit of pressure off Marcelo, Casemiro, Isco, Modric and Kroos and may see them being a little better defensively and more assured in possession. The new manager seems more of a real manager too so may attempt to give Real more of a team style for years they've just looked like 10 guys on a park and Ronaldo with the 10 trying to cover for him and set him up but no real tactical style or style of play about them.

Valencia showed good improvement last season also, not really 'back' to being a good team yet but better than they have been in 5 years or so, they don't have Guedes back who was one of their best players but might get him.

I would say real look there for the taking but they would most likely make me eat my words.

They'll be a more settled team for me, Ronaldo as good as he was - was a liability because his poor work rate and standing around up front. It put a lot of pressure on Benzema, Isco, their midfield and Marcelo to all have more to do defensively and even in attack as they had to do near enough all the creating and the defending to allow Ronaldo to sneak around into goalscoring positions.

    Courtois
    Carvajal Varane Ramos Marcelo
    Casemiro
    Modric Kroos
    Bale Isco ?????
    ?????
They probably do need new guys for those two positions but even if they don't get them Asensio and Benzema are still good and may even play better now the team is a bit more solid. Benzema for sure will be capable of scoring more now he will become the main number 9 again and won't have to do as much tracking back as Asensio or whoever plays on the left will have to do their own defensive job aand he'll not have to do as much running and use his energy up going back into midfield all the time, he can stay up the park and forcus on leading the line and scoring goals.

Just realised I put 12 guys in the team but they can rotate Casemiro, Modric and Kroos, and theres also rumour Modric will go.

It’ll be good to see Real without Ronaldo, even though I still hope Barca pump them.

Now 3rd on all time list of club trophies behind Ryan Giggs (35) & Dani Alves (36). When he retires, he will own most records as you'd expect with the goat

Messi's been on fire the last two games, that one against Sevilla last week was a showcase of sensational passing, great passing again tonight and a couple of goals.

Are Real actually better off without Ronaldo, though? I doubt it. His goal ratio is insane, especially when you compare him to other top goal scorers in the club's history...

Puskas only person close to him!

Either way, I am hoping as always for a Barca championship.

I find it hard to buy into the notion that they will do better without Ronaldo, especially without any notable recruits.

Time will tell I suppose. Atletico got a great chance this year!
