Back to the old biscuit tin mentality,we've made a good few bob and everyone and their uncle know where the fault lies yet we see our board dilly dallying and it could well cost us dear next week.
I have faith in the fact that we could get a win or a score draw in Greece but it will be a hard game.

Don't see anything bizarre in that at all - we have no (real) back up to Tierney - just Miller and he's no Izzy by a long way.
Hate to think of anything happening to Tierney injury-wise, but it's also a long season and everyone needs a break once in a while. This is going to be Izzy's role, he knows it and is accepting of it.

LB's are not easy to come by. You can't expect a half decent LB to come in knowing that they will simply be viewed as backup. Even if you did have a young player at LB, you would want to loan them out so they could actually play and develop. Izzy wanting to comeback and knowing he won't play much is a win win. If Tierney gets injured that's us done in Europe anyway since he's the only guy who can actually defend against real opposition on this team.

Good move to sign him. We could sell Calvin Miller and get the money for spare LEDs from the proceeds. A year in Saudi Arabia will give us a much improved Emilio

We could let Lustig go to a no mark league an resign him next year for cover

Yeah I agree he done well for us first time round, but in my opinion we should not be looking for competition for the Left back position, not cover for Left back? Someone who will try challenge Tierney for that spot can only make it healthy competition.

Makes perfect sense. Tierney is class, but he needs backup and that is what Izzy is brought in for. He loves Celtic and is experienced.

It’s not like he would take Tierneys position in European games, because that is clearly not the intention. A young talented LB would never come here knowing that he will play once every 10 games wasting away his development.

And I love his iconic entrance blessing.

No one is going it dislodge KT from the LB position, is his to keep and going on last nights performance, he’s doing fine without competition.

Quality left backs are in extremely short supply these days hence why a good number of clubs will have their eye on KT.

The amount of money we would need to spend to bring in someone close to where KT is at right now isn’t even worth thinking about.

And as @Doogs. said KT is not getting dropped for any * what so ever, it’s his position for as long as he is here and is doing just grand without any competition.

I love Izzy, but Hayes is already here to rotate, if Tierney gets tired or * forbid injured.

johnny hayes isn't good enough to play left wing for us nevermind left back

Honestly can't make sense of anyone not wanting this to happen, we were going into games with our worst defensive mid and an attacking mid in our defence at times last season.

Also gives us the option of playing a back four with Tierney at CB and Izzy at LB. Obviously only if we're in trouble with injuries and suspensions.

    Lustig...Boyata... Tierney...Izzy wouldn't be our worst possible back 4.

It’s not odd at all. He’s never starting for us. He’s someone we know, the players know, knows the club and loves the club. It’s a no brainier, perfect back up.

He wanted games. Looks lie he's changed his mind due to the circumstances over there with how his wife was treated, and wants to come back home.

Anyone else actually think this is a board signing? I really can't see Emilio being a Brendan signing.

Not fussed one way or another but it just means we will have another version of Lustig at LB when or if he gets a game.
