The first was 1.5 reportedly so you'd imagine 2 here..

2.5 and Allan is going past what I would bargain already but if they were to reject that third rough bid, then I hope we pull away from the table..

If the first bid was £1.5 (reportedly), I guarantee you we would not have went to £2m straight away.

They know McGinn is for the off either way, so unless another club suddenly make an offer for McGinn, Celtic know they can "lowball" Hibs.

As a Celtic fan, I'm happy with that.

We must know the exact price they're wanting by now, through an agent or some *....but want to keep haggling..

2 mill and Allan is more than fine in my opinion, if we get to that..

If no, we genuinely should move on to other's..

£1.5m + Allan is more than a good enough deal for a guy who we could get for nothing in a year..

Reading between the lines of Lenny's comment's, he thinks it will get done and McGinn wants it..

Hardly groundbreaking I know, but that's what I took from it..

No doubt someone can copy and paste it..

Lenny will be pushing him towards Celtic, no question about it.

Quite obvious tbh, we know we're signing him and he knows he's coming. Given we don't really need him unless Brown or Ntcham were to get injured then we hold the power and can let it drag on until Hibs cave in and accept their fate and we can save a wee bit of money.

We may even wait and they'll budge if they get pumped in their second round of qualifying..

2nd bid of £2m rejected I would only add Allan in with that, not worth anymore tbh! Let that fat * Petrie sweat it out and then maybe go back in at the end of the window or even better wait to January and sign him on a bosman and * Hibs right up we don’t need him the now imo

£2.2 million is the highest we should go then punt Allan back to them for £200k.

£2.5M and Scott Allan for a guy in the last year of his deal is decent for both clubs. Think that's what Hibs would be looking for at this point.

It would be absolutely insane to spend more than £2M on him.

No need for us to go that high though, if McGinn had told us he wants to come and it's agreed. With the English window shutting before ours we hold all the cards, as McGinn can turn down other moves until then if any bids are accepted knowing there'd still be 3 weeks for us to sign him. Hibs will then be trapped knowing they either sell him to us now or risk getting nothing - they can't afford to gamble with ~£1million.

If Hibs don't sell him Celtic would then sign him on a pre-contract in January just to get it up them for not selling him to us sooner and likely give them no more than £500k to take him in January.

If Celtic wait we'll likely get him for £1.5million+ Allan in a months time. Hibs will be forced into it as they can't risk ending up with nothing. If Hibs are smart they are may as well selling him now to us and getting £200-300k more considering he's probably only going to play 2-3 games for them anyway and they know they need to sell him within 4 weeks otherwise Celtic will start lowering the bids.

“We have rejected two bids from Celtic. Our club has a valuation of the player. I don’t know what that is but obviously Celtic have not met the valuation that Hibs want.”

The latest bid has come as Hibs prepare for their Europa League first round qualifier against NSI Runavik of the Faroe Islands at Easter Road on Thursday night, but Lennon is sure McGinn will be in the right frame of mind to play after confirming he would be in his matchday squad.

“He’s been all right,” said Lennon, who moved from Leicester City to Celtic after a protracted transfer saga. “Obviously it is difficult. Listen, I have been a player myself, so it’s difficult dealing with speculation. “When a club as big as Celtic come in for you there is always that anticipation, from his point of view, of maybe making that step forward, if you want to call it that.

“However, he has to be professional. We have had a couple of chats over the piece about it. He will just have to wait and see how it develops because he is our player, and he’s a very important player for us.”
