He put his hand up in the air and stopped a shot on target, penalty.

Var only tell the ref to look if there is a clear foul

Clear peno. You can't block a goal bound shot, with your hand above the head, that close to the goal and get away with it.

Aussies by far the better team, really impressed with the set up. Should forget about appointing Arnold after the World Cup and put everything into van Marwijk.

Arzani the next talent, but no one will get near him. He will be snapped up internally by City group who will probably loan him out ala Aaron Mooy.

Mooy btw, best central midfielder in the tournament performance wise so far. Sensational.

He was jumping in the air, should that not have been taken into account ?

I'm sure it was, and yet a whole team of referees and the actual referee of the match came to the conclusion that it's a penalty. It was the correct decision.

He blocked a goal bound header with his arm in an unnatural position. Of course you use your arms when you jump...but not usually like that.

I wonder what, if any, regulations exist regarding companies owning multiple football teams.

I think with VAR we are going down a dangerous road tbh, again everything is open to interpretation, in the England game the other night Harry Kane was dragged to the floor inside the penalty box, but the VAR panel never spotted that ?

We are still seeing inconsistency from officials, there is now an extra pressure on refs when they are alerted to view an incident, so far i'm just not convinced.

True but without VAR that still wouldn't have been given as a pen...so it's not exactly VAR's fault, if you know what I mean? Fouls like that have been happening forever and the ref's almost never give them. So I think that's something that needs to be addressed.

I just find it strange how so many people are not liking VAR in this WC. There's been about half a dozen penalties that were missed by the ref, then correctly given thanks to VAR intervening. Think it's been a major success so far.

    Never a penalty.

Canny believe he gave that but Denmark never got one in the second half when Jorgensen/Cornelius were pulled down in the box.

There definitely are some rules and regulations, not sure how they come into effect on a pan-continental basis. I don't think governing bodies are too fussed when teams aren't in direct competition and never likely/going to meet in a continental competition setting.

City group currently own/majority own Man City, Melbourne City, NY City. Yokohama Marinos, Atletico Torque (Uruguayan side) and Girona who are in La Liga, establishing quite the monopoly over world football. Very smart business.

Dont think it was quite as simple as that, I doubt they wanted rid of Mooy. Had scored a screamer against the huns before leaving and was thought of as a coup for Melbourne, in which he was one of the first signings in their history.

The move to Melbourne made sense. More money, back home and a chance to impress for the national team. He was very homesick at a young age in Britain.
