Robben, Maradona and Lahm out of position, therefore not utilising their best strengths. Maradona leading the line ruins the balance a bit, as does having Robben on the left. Our superior defence would keep them at bay. Baresi and Maldini's 196 matches together, saw them concede only 23 goals. Our attack has our forward players playing in their strongest positions, along with having a ridiculous amount of ability and goals between them. Our midfield is perfect for breaking down attacks, being defensively stronger, yet still has the ability to be bringing the ball forward to our attacking players. You can't discount the quality they have in their team but our balance is better and overall, our team is better.

    Boom.

Look beyond the names of Messi and Maradona.

The gap in defence isn't as big as it appears.

    Our midfield is better.

    Your midfield is probably superior.

Our defence and attack are better. 3 of the legendary AC Milan defence with Zoff behind. And in attack we have a more balanced, natural front 3.

Thuram is better than Alves and Costacurta isn't better than either of Scirea or Passarella. He lived in the shadow of Maldini and Baresi, who granted, I'll give you.

Not as simple as that tho.. their midfield 3 is marginally better. Your defence is better and their attack has better players but yours looks more potent...

Robben isn’t in the same class.. think if they played each other your defence may edge it.. very tough..:56:

    Probably superior :56:

Our midfield is the best midfield ever drafted.

It is * hot, but one thing ours has over it is far more security. Keane and Vieira are powerhouses who would do a job on Platini, while also being able to drive forward.

Alves and Thuram are very different, in fairness. One is attacking, one is more defensive.

Alves suits our team more than Thuram would, and vice versa for you two.

Would agree that your team is probably the best we’ve seen drafted in terms of individuals but not sure about the shape.. what position is Lothar in?

FIVE World Cup winners at the back.

A midfield trio of Xavi, Matthaus and Platini - can’t hand pick a better midfield.

Messi and Maradona - The 2 best players ever.

Robben on the left with his pace would be just fine with Xavi, Platini, Messi playing him through on goal.

    Not a false nine.

Robben is not a left winger. One goal against a pish Dortmund defence doesn't change that.:40:

Lahm - Great right back. Has played at left back but again, out of position.

You can throw all the iconic players you want in, but if they're playing out of position then you're not getting the best out of them.

Messi and Maradona won’t be stuck in position, they will be roaming wherever they want..

Lahm played at LB in a World Cup.
He’s fine at LB or RB or CDM.

Robben is left footed, he will be fine on the left wing especially with guys like Xavi, Platini and Messi creating for him.
