In theory he is good league-standard backup, but 15 appearances now and he's done nowt.

That's pretty much the truth, he had a decent derensive performance once but he's done * all going forward. Not gave up on him yet but seen nothing in him so far to think he'll be a success

Thought he did ok when he came on yesterday. Beat his man a couple of times, one good ball into the box and offered a much better option out wide than Forrest did the entire game I thought.

I've been heavily critical of the decision to bring him here, and very much still to be convinced, but yesterday, albeit little more than a cameo, was as encouraging a performance I've seen from him since he arrived.

If Ireland got to the WC he'd been chasing a loan, but I think he'll stay around he will get chances if we get EL football

Should be getting some more game time domestically, especially as Sincliar has went off the boil a bit.

    Either..

He actually just doesn't really fit how we play..

I do feel sorry for him as you can clearly see he's got no confidence but this is Celtic, he's 30 year's old and has had a fair few chances to make an impact in a league he know's inside out.....but hasn't done a thing..

Sometimes a player just can't rise to the challenge of playing for a massive club. His age probably doesn't help him as he seem's to play with fear..

I don't hold out too much hope of him turning it around..

Honestly, I'm starting to see him as no more than a hinderence to the potential development of Johnstone. Which is unfair on Hayes, but he's not a the level to excite anyone really

    Agreed..

I was willing to give him time but it seem's pointless whenever he get's a cameo..

Yes he's versatile and can play left full back, wing back, left and right wing but we're covered in all those positions. Left wing we have Sinclair and Johnston coming through who is probably the best teenage talent in Scotland. Left back we've one of the hottest young full back's in Europe and a capable wee guy in Miller who is no worse as left back as Hayes. Right wing we have Forrest and Paddy, so it doesn't get much easier!.

It's tough luck on him. If we'd signed him under Ronny it would've probably been a different story and i reckon he'd of started more and done a helluva lot better but we've moved on..

The signing made a bit of sense at the time and I was hopeful he'd do well but it's looking like a low-ish risk that isn't gonna pan out positively for him..

Hayes is woeful, now that some time has passed I'm struggling to see the logic in this signing. Back up for who? And the odd time he does get on the pitch, he brings none of the stuff he was showing on a regular basis with the sheep.

The guys woeful and a waste of a wage and stands in the way of youth development. Get shot of him.

Still early days and thought he did ok when he came on, on Sat..

He may well prove his worth when the winter kicks in.. needs to make much more of an impact tho when he gets in because he does look out his depth at the minute..and even tho he is here until 2020 he won't get many chances..

he is here till 2020 , i think he can do a job for us, we have a hectic season coming up i hope.

The league , the Europa cup ( i hope ) sill 2 games left in the CL and the Scottish cup as well.
I think h will be needed, BR signed him , if he didnt see something he wouldnt have signed him.
£1.3 million and Ryan Christie on loan for the season.

He will never be the greatest for us ,i think he will fit in sooner than later

We haven’t seen anything like his best yet.

What I will say is he is definitely not ‘terrible’, anyone that seen him for Aberdeen against us would tell you that.

He is lacking confidence, probably from being a squad player as opposed to the main man.

How he was for Aberdeen is by the by. We can only judge him on his performances for us and nearly every game in which he has played for us, he's been ineffectual, if not worse in being a passenger on the pitch.
