He was a really nice guy. But you must remember this was the guy who wanted to put Leigh Griffiths out on loan - back to Hibs - while at the same time he was bringing in Cifti, Carlton Cole and Colin Kazim-Richards. - Lets face it - he didnt have a clue what he was doing and was blagging the manager's job the whole time he was here. Nice guy but

He also built the biggest part of a squad that's 54 games unbeaten, Rogic, Armstrong, Paddy, Griff, KT he played a huge part in there development don't forget he was under a lot of pressure 2nd season and he still played KT over the more established Izzy

I dont see what pressure he was under. Rangers were in the Championship...he had a clear run at the title. Nobody expected him to do much in Europe anyway. He should realistically have won the treble. But got beat in the semis of the League Cup by Ross County....and then in the Scottish by rangers who again were a Championship side. That is poor form. He didn't build the squad we have today, Griffiths was a Lennon signing, Rogic was a Lennon signing, Tierney was a youth product. He did sign Armstrong - but he is twice the player under Rodgers as he was under Deila. His legacy of players was more like that Hungarian guy Tonev - *, Guidetti - * but thought he was brilliant.....Jo Inge Berget, Mubarak Wakaso, Stefan Scepovic, Tyler Blackett, Saidi Janko....all utter *???? Do I really need to go on?

Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila has revealed he inspired his new side to a crucial win - by stripping naked.

Deila is now in charge of Valerenga who play in the Eliteserien, Norway's top division.

With his team currently lingering just above the relegation zone, they faced a vital showdown with rivals Brann last month.

So Deila, who famously celebrated avoiding relegation with former side Stromsgodset by leaping about in just his underpants, decided the best way to relax his men ahead of the clash was to bare all in a team meeting.

And it worked a treat, as the Oslo club grabbed a much-needed 2-1 win.

"A lot of people have probably seen me nude already," Deila told Norwegian news website www.vg.no.

"We have to have fun in all the seriousness."

Valerenga midfielder Herman Stengel admitted Deila's striptease was just what his squad needed to lighten the mood.

"I don't know if it was pretty, but it worked well," Stengel said.

"It was important to offer ourselves. It was what he was trying to say. We must dare to make fools of ourselves. It must be on the pitch as well. We know we're good footballers and we can cope with it all."

Griff kicked on hugely in Ronny’s 2nd season so he at least had a good influence on him there, Rogic barely played under Lennon, either did Bitton who was excellent while Ronny was here, Gordon replacing Forster, Johansen POTS, bought Jozo, Debo, Erik, Christie as well.
That was our transfer policy under Ronny and Lennon, buy quantity over quality and there will be some hidden gems but some * as well.

And what pressure he was under? He came from a small Norweigen team to a foreign country where he was called out by the media constantly. He was too young and inexperienced for the job and you could the * pressure he was feeling by the end.

No to be nit-picking but it was Lennon who signed Jozo Simunovic aswell and not Deila. Johansen did win Player of the Season....but Lennon signed him aswell. If there was pressure then there shouldn't have been pressure because a non league Junior football manager could have won the league for Celtic those two seasons with the difference in quality and transfer budget that they had to the rest of the teams.

Griffiths had a good season in Ronny's second season. Granted.

But the problem is here is people are easily deceived by Ronny Delia being a generally nice guy......and he was and is a genuinely nice guy..........But he's a * manager.

Jozo signed for Celtic well over a year after Lennon had left.

    Where’s that come from?

Simunovic signed in 2015 after we sold Van Dijk, therefore Ronny signed Simunovic. I was saying that Johansen stepped up the first season under Ronny after impressing under Lenny.

Of course there's * pressure and I hate that argument that anyone could win the league with Celtic. You still have to keep the team working together and motivated over a full season while competing in 4 competitions. The pressure was on him to show progress in that 2nd season, being the manager of club the size of Celtic is huge pressure especially for someone coming from the Norweigen league having never played or managed outside the country at 39 years old.

He's an average manager who had great ideas but didn't know how to implement them and also the fact of being totally inexperienced in managing a big club with much bigger expectations that he's used to.

Ronny started this 63 game unbeaten run.
