Aye. Really rate wee Mikey Johnston. Tricky and he has an eye for goal.

@Mcguire1 will be hoping to see him play as well.

If Ralston can improve on the ball, then he has all the attributes for a tough tackling full back..

Big, strong boy who bombs up and down well. Not very quick but not slow either. More pacey than Lustig for example..

If anyone can improve him then it's Rodgers, and you only have to look at what he did whilst at Liverpool with the scouse boy who's name I've forgot...was playing him as a right footed left back and he did excellent..

Johnston was a certainty. Him and Aitchison give me big hope's..

That's the one. I bet he didn't look too different to Ralston in the Liverpool academy or great on the ball..

    Great wee player.

Pretty sure I stated somewhere a while back that I thought he was pretty much a right-footed Tierney.

    Coupla bad injuries, I'm sure.

Anyways, I'm a huge supporter/advocate of us utlizing our youth academy even more.

Rodgers (being an ex-academy manager) knows the importance of promoting from within, so these young Bhoys WILL get a chance, of which I'm delighted!

Yeah, the big thing for Ralston is improving his technique on the ball. He's solid and a good tackler.

Johnston is rated massively by Brendan, would love to see him start on Saturday.

I'd play him and Ralston every game until the last league game. Start them up at Pittodrie as well. Friday night against them would be massiv for the kids.

Mental how * Ralston has been this season. The last few games he seems to have stepped it up so hopefully he can kick on.

Aye. It's a bit later than I was hoping for but we all know why that's happened this year..

His comment's about our under 17's and the standard being poor, tell me we'll be focusing on improving that department overall as well, which is another positive..

Once we get a load of fringe/duds out this year, we'll have a chance to blood more kid's... unless we go unbeaten again :fear:

Really hope this unbeaten season doesn't deter us from giving youths a chance. It's quite clear some players have no future here. Would rather give some kids the experience and then see if they can kick on in preseason.

Yep. You can see the sentimental post's creeping in on here also. Izzy, Commons etc who should get game time because they're leaving. I'd rather just give them a good send off in the last game at Celtic Park when walking around the pitch. Thank them for the efforts they've put in..

Infact I'd give Izzy game's to keep KT fresh but not sentimental. The new kid's rightfully are banging on the door and deserve a shot..

No Aitchison, as he is in Croatia with Scotland U-17's. Eboue should get a run out too.

BR if some of the younger players will get game-time over coming weeks: "I'm sure they will. Really impressed with some of the boys."

CELTIC youngster Jack Aitchison was on target for Scotland Under-17s this afternoon as they started the UEFA European Championship finals with a 2-0 victory over the Faroe Islands.

Scott Gemmill’s side opened the scoring just before the hour-mark through Kilmarnock forward Innes Cameron, before Aitchison, who captained the side, sealed the three points less than 10 minutes later.

Fellow Hoops teenagers Stephen Welsh and Daniel Church also started for the young Scots in Croatia. Robbie Deas and Kerr McInory are also part of the squad for the tournament but were suspended for the fixture with the Faroe Islands.

Scotland won all six games in the qualifying rounds and they will be targeting maximum reward again on Saturday (May 6) when they face Hungary, before they conclude their group campaign against France on Tuesday (May 9).

It is the fourth successive time the national side have progressed to the finals at this age-group, with their highest placing coming in 2014 when they reached the last-four.

And there is added significance to this year’s tournament, given it will determine the five UEFA places for the U17 World Cup in India, which will be held in October.
