At the moment we don't have the best alternatives to Brown. McGregor for example coming for Brown would be an improvement, need to sign a top midfielder in the summer I feel. At the moment Armstrong is the only midfielder I feel should definitely be starting next season, especially if we're looking to be more competitive in the champions league.

I think Broony decision to carry on playing for Scotland has had a negative impact on his club form lately .
The first half of this season Broonyhis Club form has been brilliant but I think it has dipped the last month ?

You've called me a troll 3 times and not once have tried to contribute to the discussion about Brown, maybe you'd be better off sticking to posting pics and links, you're quite good at that. :50:

"...The 31-year-old has played every minute of Celtic’s four Champions League group games, where he’s completed 275 of 287 passes attempted. That adds up to an incredible completion percentage of 96."

    So, yes. Statistically.

It wasn't the wisest decision he's ever made, he plays an area of the field that requires a lot of running.

He passes the ball safely and well, wow incredible stuff. A single passing statistic tells you very little.

I'm not saying that's a genuine indicator of anything remarkable.. but you laughed that 'statistically' he could be notable in the CL and he was in fact. I don't think the impact of Broony in the team has anything to do with this statistic and goes far beyond it. It's his presence that's missed when he's not there. He's the guy everyone else looks to in the middle of the park, even if he is 31. He has adapted his game in other ways and sits a bit deeper, but that doesn't mean he is any less influential. For you to write him off just because of his age (which isn't even that advanced yet) is laughable to me. Don't think it's time to move on with someone else when he's our spiritual leader and longtime captain who is still playing at a high level. Especially when Brendan constantly sings his praises and speaks of his impact in the team.

He's probably had more game time than any other player in the squad this season barring Gordon. He's played more CL games than any other Scottish player and there's a good reason for that.Notice Brown makes one wee mistake and all the haters come out, funny that eh you's have been quiet all season.

I actually agree that to be more competitive in europe we need to do bette than brown, but in our current squad no one is more crucial, if we can bring in a player with browns attributes who is also technically of a level similar to armstrong we will be far better but brown is much better than mcgregor or bitton.

Bitton should be getting moved on as he doesn't effect games enough and mcgregor is a nice squad player

Also browns leadership skills cannot be underestimated, you only have to think back to the hogmanay game when he riled everyone up around 30 mins and that sparked a turn around

Sometimes there's no need to waffle on, or debate.

If I think something is a load of *, I'll tell you that.

Some call it being blunt, I say it's saying exactly what's on my mind.

There. Is that enough words typed for ye???

He will eventually lose his place, obviously, as everything comes to an end and we will need to progress.

However that time isn't now. I'm not writing him off ever again, I was in limbo with him during the summer and he's gone on to have arguably his best ever season in a Celtic shirt.

He done something silly today, regardless of whether you think it was a straight red or not. However that element will always be there in his game. Luckily he is there for Sunday, so I'm willing to let him off with this one.

Anyone thinking McGregor is an improvement on Brown needs a brain scan.

Also, to put it another way, I think some people will be very surprised at how difficult we find it to replace him. Finding someone with the same attitude as himself will not be easy.

Rodgers would be the first to tell you that.

I am glad that we are appealing the red card of Scott Brown, because it was a yellow at the most.
That referee and his officials all had shockers.

He absolutely knows what being a celtic captain is all about, even if someone can match his ability on the pitch they won't be able to match what he brings as captain.
