EK on his football idols: “When I was young it was mainly the older players in the Academy I’d look up to, rather than really big players.”

EK on knowledge of Celtic: “I remember two #UCL games. The game when they beat Barcelona and more recently the game against Man City.”

EK: “To think I’m now here when I was watching it on TV is really something.”



THE words of Kolo Toure were still ringing in the ears of new Celtic signing Eboue Kouassi when he was unveiled to the media at Paradise today (Thursday) after he asked the veteran defender about coming to the Hoops – 'Don’t hesitate!'

The message was loud and clear from the Ivory Coast legend, who only joined the Celts in the summer but has already fallen in love with the Scottish champions.

“Kolo Toure gave me some advice and the main thing was don’t hesitate, just come to Celtic,” the new Celt said in his first media conference since signing for the Scottish champions at the start of the January transfer window. “It’s a great club.

“He basically told me to come to Celtic - they’ll look after you and then make you progress and an even better player than you are at the moment.

“There are lots of great players who’ve come to Celtic before. We have a great coach as well and all I’m interested in is progressing, and I really feel this is the best place for me to get better.”

Eboue Kouassi moved to the Celts, having already starred for his former team FC Krasnodar in the UEFA Europa League earlier this season, but at just 19-years-old he knows that there is a lot of hard work ahead of him.

However, having previously made moves from his home in Ivory Coast, first to Armenia and then to Russia in search of his dream of becoming a football star, the teenage midfielder is not daunted by what lies ahead for him as a Bhoy.

Cant wait for this guy to get bedded in and slot in beside Broonie in CM.

Its a decent sized fee for a young inexperienced player so I'm hooping thats an indication of how good he is
