We've actually got a decent record at the Nou Camp bar that 6-1 defeat.

    0-0
    1-1
    1-0
    2-1
    6-1

Drawn twice and only lost by a single goal twice.

Seems we're a bit of a bogey side to them with no real pumpings, our home record isn't too bad also.

    1-0
    1-3
    2-3
    2-1
    0-1

No real pumpings amongst any of them bar the 6-1 defeat. Let's hope this run continues, if we could get a draw in the Nou Camp Man City would start bricking it slightly because they'll be expecting us to take a doing.

    Barcelona (a) 6-1
    Man City (h) 1-0
    Gladbach (h) 2-0
    Gladbach (a) 3-1
    Barcelona (h) 1-1
    Man City (a) 5-0

I'm going for 7 points. Hopefully enough to get into Europa.

I think at ours we can give any team a game, and we'll be right up for Barca and City. I'm quite confident for those games. Gladbach will be great too, but I'm almost more worried about it. I wonder if we'll be a little less fired up since they're not as 'famous' as the other two. More expectation and all that.

If we get away from Nou Camp and Etihad without being completely humped then I'd call that a success. Sadly, it seems inevitable :smiley-laughing002:

Mate, in the nicest way possible, are you on crack? Two of the best players by far to grace our team in recent years are/were Patrick Roberts and Jason Denayer, both of whom are miles away from their first team. Now they have a top manager to make all those individuals into a team. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they give Barça a good fight for top spot.

Not a hope we're keeping 3 clean sheets... other than that, yeah, sounds about right... :fear:

    :56:

I'd tear the arm off anyone who offered me 3 hone draws and an away draw to BM. Gut feeling is 5 defeats (tight ones at home, scuddings away) and a home win to BM

I think we will end up with 4 pts - don't know how we will get them so I make that one win and one draw against Barca:56:

This! Concerned that home and especially away the 3 teams will run through us with their high pressing/passing game. As has been said many times, our midfield is far from solid. What will be interesting will be to see our team & tactics in 1st game vs Barca & last game vs Pep's Man City.

Patrick Herrmann (BMG winger) has torn an adductor muscle and will be injured for the "foreseeable future".

    Very good news for us.

I think that if ( by some miracle ! Dembelle show???) we could escape from Spain with a point it would be the perfect start especially on the post Sevco slaying high!

We need the 'fortress parkhead' mentality back to hold at home or hopefully pick up a win.
If we get a pumping from the off - then the other teams will just see us as easy points and a way of building a good goal difference.

Can do without Europa league though if it came to it... Can't stand the Thursday fixtures or more significantly , the league fixtures shifted to Sunday's .

Well i am getting brave(maybe assisted by Scrumpy Jack?) But i think we will qualify with a game to go!
We qualified with a game in hand when Man U were in our Group 10 years ago, lets do it again, riding a fair bit of luck!

On paper the odds are against us, we're expected to get a battering and our only hope of a point is against Gladbach, which is fair I can understand it and I'm not holding my breath for 3 points at all in this group.

But we all know anything can happen I'm soo looking forward to the possibility of some magic moments from us under the lights at Parkhead, the thought of us possibly beating Barca with some magic from Dembele, Griff leaving the Man City defenders bewildered when he squeezes one in from an impossible angle, Sinclair sprinting the length of the pitch to get on the end of a ball from Rogic.

The possibility of anything like that happening at Parkhead is * magic can't wait, we're probably in for a right doing but * it we'll all be going * mental if and when we take a lead in of these games.

    Mon the Hoops :shamrock:

Im getting more confident about the games the closer they get.

Tomorrow may be a serious wake up call though :smiley-laughing002:

A pessimistic part of me couldn't help thinking: "doubt we'll be making much noise after they go 3-0 up in 20 minutes." :54:

Anyway, without prejudging the game, they've been to Dortmund and did not bad. This isn't Malmo, Astana, Shakhtar Karagandy or Hapoel Be'er Sheva; these are experienced internationals who have played in big atmospheres before and won't be fazed.

It's more about how much the crowd can lift our players.
