Usually I would think there's a chance of that happening, but very doubtful with Pep in charge. Apparently the guy watched multiple tapes of st Johnstone when man city played them in pre season behind closed doors :smiley-laughing002:

    Holy *. :56:

He's something else. Any other season I'd fancy us against them even if its slim, now not so much.

Don't worry, Brendan does the same against his opposition. Its in the bag this one.

Our best chance I think is third if we can take 4 pts from Mongladbachl

    I doubt we will though.

Just my opinion I don't fancy a Thursday trip to Russia followed by a league game 3 days later our squad isn't the biggest

    ?!

You get the same amount of coefficient points for progressing in the Europa as in the CL. So, to an extent, I'd rather make the quarters of the Europa League (which we'd have to win 2 knock-out ties to do) and reap a lot more points than if we made the CL last 16 and got horsed by someone - especially since our points from the 12-13 season will be coming off the coefficient next year.

The better the coefficient gets, the better the chances of not having to play 3 qualifying rounds.

    Messi

"Celtic is a team we've got to know very well in the Champions League, and being back in the competition they have a point to prove."

"They have many different players from the Celtic teams we have faced before. But it won't change their spirit and desire."

"It's important to win the first group game. Celtic will arrive without pressure, we know from experience that they'll fight hard."

"Celtic fans will fill their stadium with noise. It's good that they're back. We have a lot respect for their fans and players."

"A lot of mutual respect has been built up over our games against each other."

"There's a lot of talk about Man City, but we'll treat every game the same. No Champions League game is an easy one."

    Gladbach 2 - 1 Leverkusen. Good counter-attacking team.

They've won 14 of their last 16 at home.

Yeah they looked very dangerous on the counter, weren't convincing at the back though and particularly down their left hand side.

Hazard with a good through ball.

The play developed after a poor enough clearance by Leverkusen keeper and then a break of the ball to Hazard.

If we make many mistakes in the middle of the park, they'll punish us.

If we play like we did today for the majority of that match against Aberdeen then we can kiss goodbye to competing whatsoever. I'm not expecting to go through such a tough group which is unrealistic, I do however expect us to make it as difficult as possible for our opponents and that's all we can ask for. However, play like today and we'll be on the end of a few drubbings.

Hopefully we get some decent signings in over the next few days and Brendan gets his team refined more.

Gladbach seemed to be quite open but had a lot of pace and were very dangerous themselves on the break. I'd give us a chance of beating them at home if we play as well as we can.
