I don't really care tbh, they are rich they can do what they want. Pay people to keep you rich, makes sense to me.

Annoys me more when people don't work and don't contribute to anything but expect hand outs from everyone else

The Icelandic PM is likely to lose his job over this, also funny enough Vice reported on this company over a year ago and basically everything they speculated is being shown to be truth

What do you expect? The leak is being managed by the grandly but laughably named “International Consortium of Investigative Journalists”, which is funded and organised entirely by the USA’s Center for Public Integrity. Their funders include

    Ford Foundation
    Carnegie Endowment
    Rockefeller Family Fund
    W K Kellogg Foundation
    Open Society Foundation (Soros)

among many others. Do not expect a genuine expose of western capitalism. The dirty secrets of western corporations will remain unpublished.

    https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/arch...tekeepers-protect-western-1-from-panama-leak/

I expect the Iceland angle has something to do with the fact that they refused to bailout their banks and jailed many of the countries top banksters ???

Aye its a very murky world out there, in which there are lots of grasping untrustworthy little * in power ... Seems Cameron/Uk gov are trying to do something about it as well, so that's to be commended at least.

Think someone might have not read the full article or seen only what they wanted to see ... :52: :56:

What are the Panama Papers? A guide to the biggest leak in history
What is Mossack Fonseca, how big is it, and who uses offshore firms? Key questions about one of the biggest ever data leaks

Monday 4 April 2016 07.04 BST Last modified on Monday 4 April 2016 08.20 BST

    What is Mossack Fonseca?

It is a Panama-based law firm whose services include incorporating companies in offshore jurisdictions such as the British Virgin Islands. It administers offshore firms for a yearly fee. Other services include wealth management.

    Where is it based?

The firm is Panamanian but runs a worldwide operation. Its website boasts of a global network with 600 people working in 42 countries. It has franchises around the world, where separately owned affiliates sign up new customers and have exclusive rights to use its brand. Mossack Fonseca operates in tax havens including Switzerland, Cyprus and the British Virgin Islands, and in the British crown dependencies Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.

    How big is it?

Mossack Fonseca is the world’s fourth biggest provider of offshore services. It has acted for more than 300,000 companies. There is a strong UK connection. More than half of the companies are registered in British-administered tax havens, as well as in the UK itself.

How much data has been leaked?

A lot. The leak is one of the biggest ever – larger than the US diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks in 2010, and the secret intelligence documents given to journalists by Edward Snowden in 2013. There are 11.5m documents and 2.6 terabytes of information drawn from Mossack Fonseca’s internal database.

Are all people who use offshore structures crooks?

No. Using offshore structures is entirely legal. There are many legitimate reasons for doing so. Business people in countries such as Russia and Ukraine typically put their assets offshore to defend them from “raids” by criminals, and to get around hard currency restrictions. Others use offshore for reasons of inheritance and estate planning.

Are some people who use offshore structures crooks?

Yes. In a speech last year in Singapore, David Cameron said “the corrupt, criminals and money launderers” take advantage of anonymous company structures. The government is trying to do something about this. It wants to set up a central register that will reveal the beneficial owners of offshore companies. From June, UK companies will have to reveal their “significant” owners for the first time.

What does Mossack Fonseca say about the leak?

The firm won’t discuss specific cases of alleged wrongdoing, citing client confidentiality. But it robustly defends its conduct. Mossack Fonseca says it complies with anti-money-laundering laws and carries out thorough due diligence on all its clients. It says it regrets any misuse of its services and tries actively to prevent it. The firm says it cannot be blamed for failings by intermediaries, who include banks, law firms and accountants.

Well you are misguided and misinformed.

Tell me to the penny how much these 'wasters' take out of the system. How many unemployed people are work shy fecks and how many are genuinely struggling to find work.

The largest bill for our social security services is the pensions bill, not even unemployment and the pensioners deserve it.

    How about this:

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics...eceive-as-much-in-benefits-as-poorest-by-2020

The wealthy to receive as much in benefits as the poor by 2020 in the form of tax cuts, incentives and loopholes. Is that ok with you? This corporate welfare is rarely reported on and is always a taboo subject to touch and yet we spend billions on it (£93 billion to be exact, or £3,500 per household).

It's funny, because people would call that socialism if it were the working man but not for corporations?

If people work hard and earn their money - good for them. However the system is totally messed up now; capitalism has went wrong. Now the wealthy don't want to spend their money, pay their share of the taxes or create jobs, they want to keep amassing more wealth and bank it or buy 'assets' to sit on.

This * up the system of capitalism - to put it bluntly.

Also, I see no problem with people paying a flat rate of tax, say 20% or even 25%.

The problem is that the rich don't even want to pay that. The age old excuse 'well, my 5% tax is more than you 35% tax'. It probably is but it's all relative and it messes up the system if people pick and choose the rules.

Well over half the companies and whatnot on the list are registered in British territories to hide their *. So they are hardly coming out of this looking good. And there are other anti-Putin types on the list, like the president of Ukraine.

Of course Putin is taking the headlines because he is a corrupt, mad Bond villain :smiley-laughing002:

Edit: just seen your post is a copy and paste from Infowars :smiley-laughing002:

Aye, Putin has now been revealed to have at least $2 billion in wealth and his family/associate tens of billions - as if we didn't know.

Far cry from the measly £85k in assets he claims to have. :56:

Really? It annoys you that someone might be LIVING on £40 odd quid a week but these corporations and individuals are avoiding paying millions, if not billions, in tax, somehow you don't care? even if it was illegal?

Aye alright pal, away back reading the Daily Mail.

These guys are the real cheats. Not some guy who is claiming benefits. those on benefits are demonised.

your view actually sickens me. you've fell for it hook line and sinker.

Heaven forbid, you might suffer a fall or injury and may never work again. What happens then? You are no longer contributing. I take it you wouldn't be claiming...

Those actually properly cheating the system (with benefit fraud and the like) are few and far between. And costs the taxpayer very little in the grand scheme of things. Starbucks, amazon and the like not paying corporation tax cost us far more.

Divide and conquer. Age old tactic.

Blame (insert minority) on why the country is struggling financially/*
Parrot the MSM on these minorities.
Turn blind eye to the rich getting richer through dubious means (zero hour, corporation tax, blatant not paying tax, shell companies, loopholes)

    *, in other words.

    It's mad :56:

In one of these deals this Sandalwood Continental bought an assist for 70p and then sold it three months later for £93 million. Then got £562 million in 'loans' from a Russian bank. Money laundering much? :56:

In the grand scheme of things this is one of the 'better' things Putin has done but lolololol.

comments like this annoy me. the reason society is in a mess is because of these rich *. but people will blame people who are in the same boat as them because of propaganda. there isnt even enough jobs out there if everybody was to work , the system is *. the rich get richer and leave the poor to fight with each other.

I wasn't talking about people on pensions or disability allowance or people that actually look for work. I was talking about people that choose not to work because they are better of not working. I know people that have said to me I don't want to work because I get more not working, that is my problem. The same people that say to me "I ain't going to pay for that, my council will"

I have been In situations when I have been out of work and struggled to pay my bills but I took whatever job I could so I could pay my own bills and get my own place and stand on my own feet. I feel mentally better of for doing that.

    How many are out there?

I often hear this regurgitated from folk and yet they can never quote facts or figures regarding this. You will find that most people are not better off on benefits. It's all well and good giving anecdotal evidence but the facts don't correspond with the opinions.

A large majority of folks will take whatever they can get. The majority of folks are always better off working rather than on benefits - especially now under the Conservative government.

The very few who are better off on benefits (I've yet to meet anyone) cost peanuts in the grand scheme of things. Whereas millionaires/billionaires and corporations cost us billions every year.

As I said: £93 billion in corporate welfare; £75billion in tax avoidance. That's mental - £168 billion is more than the entire Greek economy! :smiley-laughing002:

Porky fell out of favour some time ago, probably because the guy is a * * and with only about 2% of Ukraine supporting him, him being hung out to dry was always on the cards.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXsX3Nc9_ZE[/ame]

Putin is taking the headlines YES, but all I can see so far is that a couple of people he is supposedly been connected to in the past being implicated in this Soros funded bullshit.

The Kremlin called it last week https://www.rt.com/politics/337450-putins-spokesman-warns-of-fresh/

Wake me up when they start exposing them offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands :86:
