<hr style="color:#34973D; background-color:#34973D" size="1"> Van Dijk, Matthews and McGeouch were sold for £15.25million

£5.53million was paid for Simunovic, Allan, Ciftci, Christie, Janko, Blackett and Bailly.

Should clear up a bit what was paid for certain players. For example we now know for sure £5million wasnt spent on Simunovic as speculated at the time even if you go with small sums like £100k Bailly, £300k Janko, £500k Christie, £1m Ciftci, £300k Allan, £200k loan fee for Blackett then Simunovic would have cost about £3.1m.

We also know that another year has passed with us making a massive profit on player sales with the team becoming significantly weaker as a result.

    Not bad for 5.53Million :50:
Though you feel more could of been spent for another player.
Or maybe the sales covered the losses from the last accounts.

    Where are those figures from?

If it's the accounts it may not be accurate because we rarely pay transfer fees up front.

Does the figure for players in include the full fee if it's paid in monthly installments or just the money paid in the business year?

It will include the full fee even if it's paid in installments. They just account for the money in the accounts under assets(money owed to us) or liabilities(money we've still to pay) so we already have some of the money and the other money is an asset or we've already paid some of the money but the other moneys a liability(weve not paid yet), in the recent accounts we are still owed £10.63million from previous player sales off clubs and we owe £6.09million.

Don't think the figure is from the accounts but rather from the summery that comes with them which only gives the fees that will finally be paid/received on players that moved during the last year, so for example if we only sold one player and receive a million now and a million in years time the summery tells us we got £2m from players sales in the past 12 months even though we have to wait a year for part of that.

Can someone point me to where it tells us how much we paid in transfer fees in the summer?

They don't they only tell you much was spent from 1st July to 30th June each year, so the accounts usually always account for players who were signed or sold over 3 transfer windows.

But they always tell you how much was spent/made on players after that financial year when they release the accounts so you can always at least know what we spent between July 1st and the end of the Transfer window in August/September.

January to the start of July we can't split into sections as to see what we spent in those windows individually because we only find out about them in the accounts at the end but we can subrtact the money from the end of the first window(1st July to September) so we can tell how much was spent/made in January to July.

But note 30 in the accounts is where it tells us how much we bought and sold players for after the end of the year, its like the 2nd bottom page.

    @ I love the Celtic.

Do you still try to make out that we're not downsizing? Have you a link to those figures and where you're getting them from?

    We're not though.

You could call it getting worse but downsizing would mean we are cutting funding when we're not. We are pretty much still spending the same amount on wages and transfers as we have for a decade, it's just in that decade about 100 European teams have overtook us financially so the players we once could afford are now a lot worse.

Theres literally nothing we can do about it, from 2000-2005 we were one of the richest teams in Europe with like the 5th highest wage bill in the UK and probably one of the top 20/25 wagebills in Europe. Now we are probably about the 25th-30th highest wagebill in the UK and about 100th+ in Europe.

So we've been squeezed out the market cause unlike all the big Leagues our budgets are the same as they were a dozen year ago. When their budgets have trebeled.

Southamptons wagebill is 2.5x ours, when in 2003 say our wagebill was probably 1.5x theirs.

So its non growth thats made us * which theres nothing we can do about, not downsizing.

It will only get worse too, rather than Celtic getting richer or growing we'll probably only sink further away, we're probably a decade away from English Championship clubs becoming richer than us and by that time teams like Southampton will probably have wagebills 5x us, German, Spanish, French, Russia, Turkish and Italian teams will also all be richer again and we'll be far worse but theres nothing that can be done.

It's not as if we want to downsize, the board would make much more money if we continue to grow in each aspect so there is no chance they would choose to scale the club back. They have a long term plan, of course in the short term it's not doing us many favours. We're not downsizing anyway.

Peter Lawwell did everythig to get that 5.5 million figure out for Simuovic - we aren't that stupid Pete. Once again we have sold top quality talent for top dollar and spent as little as possible on replacements , which has resulted in a steady decline in the quality of the playing squad.

In accounting you take the full figure you pay, then amortise unwind the amounts you then pay over let's say 2/3 years. It's so you can't overstate losses and understate profits when you want.

Based on accruals accounting, if you want to know more I can put you to sleep!

    In the accounts...

"Since the balance sheet date, further expenditure, including loan fees of £5.43m has been committed in acquiring player registrations. Post year-end player registrations have been disposed of with net sale proceeds of £15.25m."
