i don't know one thing about this mob, but let's hope we start right and get the job done. A clean sheet preferably. Any qualifier could be a potential banana skin.

I'm thinking Chico left back again?

I too have no clue about them whom are who?

Hopefully we score not one, but at least two, and do not go out on to the pitch without having at least a clue about what to do against you(don't)knowwho........

From watching highlights of their matches I think they're a dangerous team but rely on Reynaldo. He is their main man and can hit a good freekick - keep him quiet and I think they'll struggle. For us, I'd only be comfortable travelling to Azerbaijan with a 2-0 lead at the very least.

They like to play down the wings and cross it in to Reynaldo, so I think Mulgrew would be a safer choice at LB if fit.

I can see us taking a few off this mob. It's keeping a clean sheet that's worrying me.

A 2 goal cushion would be nice. Mulgrew at left back please.

    My team would be-

    Gordon

    Lustig
    Boyata
    Virgil
    Mulgrew

    Bitton
    Brown

    Mackay-Steven
    Johansen
    Armstrong

    Griffiths

Later in the game I would bring Ciftci, Janko and Forrest on to get some pace at them when they are feeling tired.

I read somewhere that they play the same formation as us. If we play our own game, they should be worried about us. It's about time we got rid of the notorious slow start as well!

Not a fan of Griffiths but he has to start. This game is too important to use it for continuing to bed down Cifti and we need goals to take over there.

We need to be as gung ho as possible. That is essential while not conceding an away goal.
Anything less that a 3-0 win and I will be very wary about going over yonder in the Middle East.

Not sure those add up :smiley-laughing002: As ever, the most important thing is not conceding. It would be great to take a healthy lead over there, but there is absolutely no need to throw too much at them early on. I'm confident the goals will come if we're patient.

Need to attack like * to get the goals first and foremost. I need to hope that the defence will be able to cope without much protection. Button and Brown need to be making runs close to the lone striker too.

Reynaldo. It's like one of they knock off footie tops.

As for the gung ho, I'd rather we didn't do that. We don't need as many goals as possible, we do, however, need to concede the least possible. :50:
