    As title.
Since there are supporters of Palestine in amongst the Celtic support i ask 3 things

    1) Are there any Palestinian players good enough to play for Celtic
    2) Would or should Celtic buy them
    3) Would Celtic be allowed to bring them to the club

We do have links to Club Deportivo Palestino of Chile
Wonder if they would like to come to Celtic Park for a friendly and would the match be blocked by authorities.

If a player was good enough why does it matter where they come from?

    To me, it doesn't matter.
The only obstacle i could see if he was good enough would be them being granted by the authorities a work permit because of them being Palestinian.
I know that it would be out of our control.
The advantage to bringing them to Celtic apart from them being good enough would also be in Europe because Celtic could then tell UEFA to * Off when the Celtic supporters fly Palestinian banners again which would mean no more fines for that.

I must be misinformed but whats the obstacle of being Palestinian? Are we at war with them or something?

No we aren't but it's Wasteminster who set the regulations on work permits and i thought that it would be more difficult for a Palestinian to get a work permit than some other countries.

Beram was Palestinian? Most Israeli Arabs are Palestians? Some of you make some pretty bold statements without much evidence. Beram seemed pretty patriotic to me. He was only on the call-up list for his country for 6-7 years.

We are a charitable club. And to set up a school out there with willing volunteers would be no bad thing. Even to bring kids over in some sort programme. Show them what to aspire to. Maybe we could coach one for the future. The market there is untapped due to its situation. Israel even prevent players from going to play games outside of West Bank.

I don't know for sure what his identity is; neither do you. My guess is he probably considers himself Palestinian rather than Israeli based on the balance of probability with him being an Arab Muslim. I may be wrong about that but it is a reasonable guess in the absence of any statement from him.

At any rate you really do beg the question when you say "on the call-up list for his country" rather than "for the Israeli National Team": plenty of players play for national teams other than their own when they are eligible and it furthers their career, both Scotland and Ireland have benefited from this in recent decades. So by saying that you are assuming what you are trying to show and then offering that as evidence for his alleged patriotism for Israel.

    Circular reasoning, mate.

Guardiola played for Spain. He considers himself to be Catalan. It's quite common for Catalan and Basque players to represent Spain.
