I wouldn't look at it as a step back for Celtic more of a giant leap, back

He would serve as cover and knows the club inside out,I would take him back he's a solid defender no fancy * we could be doing with that just now, plus he's far more solid in the air than Deneyar or Ambrose

Ambrose is by far a better defender than O'Dea. I honestly can't believe what I read on here sometimes. If people are happy with O'Dea signing with us it shows how far we've fallen as a football club. The guy was and still is an absolute diddy. Makes Efe look like Baresi.

Wasn't good enough for us 5 years ago and unless he's got better ( doubt it) or we have got a lot worse then I dint think he's good enough now, even on a free

I would much rather have O'Dea who will punt the ball out the stadium to clear danger rather than trying to go on a Messi run in your own half.

Need more players with O'Dea's attitude at the club.

I think big Darren could come in and shore up our defence at the moment. Think he's at the right age now and has put hammering the booze behind him!

Given he will be a free agent next month he might well be worth bringing in on a short term contract till the end of the season and seeing how he does before looking at something more long term. Right now we have Boyata and Simunovic when fit as first choice center halfs and only Ambrose as a reliable back up. Blakett can * off back to Manchester United. At the very least at 28 and knowing the club and league he seems like a good temporary option as cover.

Jesus christ, making a few good points about the dead lot has not turned Darren O'Dea into a good football player.

O'Dea in his prime was nowhere near as good as McManus or caldwell and look at both of them now...

O'Dea's 28 mate? He was a young player at us?

I'd have taken him a year ago because he'd have added something.

I don't think we need him now though. We added experience with Cole and there are older heads throughout the side.

I'd take him over Blackett tbh, if we got shot of him and got O'Dea in I wouldn't complain.
