With the money being spent on average players by average clubs, Ross Mcormick to Fulham for 11 million and James MacArthur for 7 million to crystal palace, sky have ruined football and are making it impossible for clubs like celtic to survive in this climate, to think celtic under Martin Oniell could compete with most of the premiership clubs with transfer and wages, how things have changed

£15million is the new £5million. Someone said it on her a few days ago but the EPL is just a league on steroids. I can't see how they will be able to keep up on spending that amount of money for another 10+ years. Nearly £1billion spent on transfers....mental.

Totally agree, when clubs like Southampton, who have done nothing for years, can afford 10 mil, 12 mil etc for players you know its *. 60 odd mil for Tv deals for clubs Like cardiff, Celtic cannot compete at all, no wonder Scottish footballs *, We have to go 3 rounds to try get into the champions league, to earn just a portion of what they get in tv money down there.

I can't wait for them to go bust but some other company will just come in and start the cycle again

They might beg Celtic but you can't beg of that which does not exist. The Tribute Bears have a few months left tops so it's unlikely the premiership bubble will burst by then. Although I hope it does go * up in England money wise as its quite sickening that over 800 million has been spent down there

EPL have spent 800 million pound this transfer window. That is around the entire GDP of San Marino in one window!!! Ridiculous

The day celtic joins the premier league is the day I stop supporting the club I know at the moment things aren't great but joining that soulless league will be the end of all that this club is about

But you'd think the recent economic crash would have slowed the spending in football but it didn't. It seems like it will take something massive to see a reverse in spending.

Got to remember they're counting the recycled money. E.g - A player from Man Utd is bought by Arsenal for 20 million, then Man Utd replace that player by buying a player from Chelsea for 19 million. Sky sports count that as being 39 million spent.

But it doesn't stop their club taking the Sky money to sign James McArthur :smiley-laughing002:
