We are quite close to Bass rock in Edinburgh, so we see a lot of gannets all summer long.
Seen a few on the West coast in August also.

Thought id stick this item in here, as Michaela is so associated with wildlife.

Wee Michaela as in Strachan......anyway, she has had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

I hope she fully recovers regardless of who she is, but i do think she is a ray of sunshine when she is on the Tv, and has always brightened up wildlife programmes for me.......so i especially feel an attachment to her.

On the bypass between Saltcoats & Stevenston there are big birds that look like Eagles or something. I assume they are waiting on road kill as they are always sitting on a fence post or a road sign. There were 3 last year but only 2 now, always tempted to stop the car and get a photo of them.

All is well with me mate.I wont ask how things are after you old man's passing as i know what its like.
Yeah, real shame about Michaela, hopefully she will be ok in the long run now she has had this procedure.
Cool.Youre in Sweden....that right? They look like our Roe deer......are they?
Id guess buzzards mate.Like mini eagles, but big enough in their own right. They are everywhere these days on Scottish roads.Still magnificent to see though.

Have always loved nature in fact while growing up in Glasgow I spent as much time as I could in the Bluebell Woods,or the Cawder Woods near Bishopbriggs.
However,3 years ago while playing golf, with my son,at Cobleskill GC NY.we saw a Cougar sitting just off the fairway, and I can tell you it took our minds off eagles and birdies, that sucker was big.
