More of a message sent to Labour to rethink their policies and sort their * hopeless leadership out.

56 seats for SNP, but on course for a Tory majority.

That has got to be one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on here. Can't you do math? The conservatives still have a majority even if every seat in Scotland voted labour. Still, don't let the facts get in the way of some good old tribalistic Nat bashing!

Won't even be discussed this term. SNP will want to show that isn't their only agenda which is a good idea.

Likely that we won't see a referendum for 20+ years IMO. By that time the political landscape could be completely different and the masses will have been fooled again into thinking the union is the best place for Scotland.

Voting Labour would have given Scotland the voice of Labour with Tory in power and nothing more. This result is preferable.

    20 years? :smiley-laughing002:

I bet you there'll be another referendum by the end of the decade... and we'll win.

Unbelievably bad result for Labour across the UK. Lost Scotland, now they've just lost their second in command. Miliband will chuck it today surely.

There will be a referendum pushed through in the next 5 years of this government, no doubt after the EU one is done, probably happen in the next 5-10 years I'll be surprised if they can push through for the vote to happen before 2020.

England WILL (imo) attempt to take the "UK" out of the EU, against the wishes of it's wee "partner" countries. Should they (hopefully) do that, there WILL be another Indy Ref.

Please Dave, try this as soon as.......

Can't help but feel frustrated that I live in a Country which didn't want its own Independence only to almost whitewash the Country with MP's that have an underlying sole aim of just that.

What a peculiar wee Country full of strange people we live in.

I've had that thought several times this morning, I'm * delighted with SNP's absolute dominance in the elections last night but it's * me off about September.
