Aye, I agree it's not the biggest compliment, but still does no harm for his confidence.

Best finisher he's ever seen though isn't a bad compliment :smiley-laughing002:
I'm sure theres been a few good strikers kicking about in Norway in Ronny's time there.

Someone needs to show Griff a vid of Tony Watt sticking one past Valdes and say, 'look if he can do it you can too'. Griffs a great finisher, some of his shots like that one against Eibar from distance are really good. He's got good technique in that sense, good at free kicks too mind.

Anyone else think he looks like "George Dawes" the mad, score-keeping, man-baby drummer from Shooting Stars?

Do you know what, as Celtic fans we are quick to give * to players and offer our expertise on all things a player does wrong. Be that on the pitch when the confidence is low or off the pitch and how they live their lives. This is a club that is more like a culture, lived and breathed every day by us fans. So as it goes myself and many others on this site were very quick to voice our disapproval of the Thumbs signing. I knew he'd do well. But it was the extra baggage of his silly boy antics that we did not want our club harmed. But I will now stand up and say Leigh Griffiths you are truly one of us now. You've knuckled down to push your way to starting each game. You've changed your lifestyle to suit our clubs image and you have done a lot of growing up in the last year. Big respect to you wee man. And your hair is lovely now!:50:

Looks like "Boyd Crowder" is a little upset about Ronnys praise of Griffiths. Does someone have a wee problem with oor Leigh? Seems like he has somekind of vendetta against a man who has scored 12 goals in his last 12 league games. He was over in the Hooper transfer thread slagging him off there too, very strange indeed.

Only our support could find a negative in our manager saying our striker is the best finisher he's ever seen. * * :56:

Great post. Agree fully on all points made.

Incredible how we are still discussing if Griff is good enough or not. He has proven his talent by scoring a ratio of around 50% in every club he's been at since he was 16 years old playing for Livingstone.

Leigh Griffiths is a natural born goal scorer.

And now at Celtic, he has exceeeded 50%, despite hardly ever playing the full 90 minutes.

He is overtaking Hooper's ratio almost as we speak.

So should he be our main striker? Of course he should. We have noone else even close when it comes to scoring goals.

Give him a fraction of a second on the ball in the box and he will score.

Can't say that about the fumbling duo Scep and Shifty.

its great to see some great posts here full of support for Griffiths.
Last year loads wanted rid of him but he's screwed the nut and banged in the goals.

Who needs Gary Pooper when we got the Thumb.

Common, Thumbs up for the Thumb :50::50:

It's also incredible how you are already writing off Ciftci.

Hooper...hooper hooper....well hooper * off after just a few seasons....kind of tired of hearing about the guy like he was some sort of * legend.

Griff is doing great...working hard and scoring goals and i would think finish the season the top scorer at the club.
IMO he will also extend his contract when the chance comes along.

But im sure the lad will at some point make a mistake out side the ground and plenty will throw him right back to the * * tag.

I dont think we are writing him off,if anything ronny has taught us, is give him time to work on a payer.

But it would be nice if the * got a shot on target,:smiley-laughing002:

Not writing Ciftci off at all, and not writing Scepowich off either. I hope both of them will go on to be Celtic legends.

But we have to be realistic and pragmatic, and today, August 2015, our sovereign striker is undoubtedly Leigh Griffiths.

And we forget he is only 24 years old, and has shown improvement under Deila in terms of dedication to football and physical conditioning, so who knows how far he can go.

An obvious first choice striker for us both in Scotland and in Europe.

The thumb isn't good enough to start in Europe for me his finishing is great and is the best in club but the rest of his play isn't really good enough for Europe this is like the commons debate all over in saying that i hope he starts Wednesday hes are best striker atm but i still feel we need someone better

You referred to him and Scepovic as a 'fumbeling duo' which said to me you don't rate them.

I'm sure you are the same guy who called Griffiths world class as well so I'll take what you say with a pinch of salt.

I didn't say either of you were.

    I was replying to Drifter.
