He got player of the tournament in the Swiss Cup(Under 16 tournament) in the Summer. Celtic finished 4th, lost the 3rd place play-off on penalties against Bayern. The 4 best teams in it Celtic, Bayern, Rapid Vienna and Zurich, Celtic played them all and never lost in 90 minutes, drew with Bayern and Zurich and lost on penalties to both of them and beat Rapid Vienna who won it.

Mentioned him on here a while back when I first clocked him in last years victory shield against England and he was by far the best player on the park..

Some pace he's got, winger that plays on his wrong side..
Can't mind what footed he is but I was majorly impressed..

He's a striker mate, left footed. Might of played out wide in that game though, didn't see it.

Aye, a year or so back Boyd, Lafferty and Miller was the Celtic front 3 in his team :56: dont know if Boyd is still about think Ciaran Lafferty is still doing well though.

Don't doubt that mate,he was deffo used as a right winger then in the game I saw :50:

Infact we had a celtic striker up front on his own, think it was lafferty? Could be wrong.

The starting 11 and squad was full of celtic players..

    Deffo looked one to watch..

He's definitely a striker now, he may have changed position from then but he is 100% a striker now. He would be comfortable on the wing given his attributes though. Never been more confident about a Celtic player making the breakthrough than Calvin. He's already left school and on a professional contract, on a few hundred a week apparently.

Aye, Ciaran Lafferty is the striker. Boyd and Miller were the supporting players.

In the Victory Shield squad 8 of the 18 players were from Celtic. 5 of them started 2 of the games and 6 started the other game. 4 Celtic players came on as subs.

Scotland are playing in the Victory Shield against Northern Ireland on Thursday too, I'd look out for the Celtic centre-half too, was brilliant against Italy.

Yeah boyd rings a bell aswell, miller was the standout but boyd was the other player that played best if memories right..
Lafferty didn't look up to much against a good English defence though..
Bit slow and slack I thought..

Good to see so many kids coming through and dominating internationally now..

Yeah rogne haven't seen him up front, actually think I may have seen abit of him against Moscow in that tournament out there but he looked tailor made on the opposite wing with his trickery and pace, was really exciting..

Really early days but he's one of them I can see being benched early for us and making an impact..hopefully..

Best young players born in 1997, they have 3 Celtic youngsters in their top 30, Sam Wardrop, Jack Breslin & Aiden Nesbitt.

I actually think he'd be more comfortable on the wing but what makes him very useful up front are his strength, his ability to score from nothing, his pace and his hold up play.

I'd actually like to see him on the wing as he is very skilful and quick, though I don't think he play there for Scotland as the wide men are excellent.
