I'm the same. If it's a Real/Chelsea final, I'll want Real to win it. Real/Atletico - I'll watch it as a neutral and hope for an entertaining match

You're looking at it from the defensive side, but teams & players don't dream of playing *, bus-parking footy. They are FORCED to play that way because of Pep, that's why I called it anti-football because even though it sounds weird it is basically. Pep doesn't want the other team to attack, which is obviously fair enough, but he takes it so far it just kills every game. You know exactly what is going to happen in every single game, you can predict 100% of the match because it's so boring and predictable.

I wouldn't call Real a negative team though, that was why they kicked Jose out because their fans are the most demanding and hardest to please on Earth - even worse than Celtic fans!

When Real break at full pace with Di Maria, Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale it's brilliant to watch. They have less of the ball in games like this but that's just because Pep will fine his players if they ever have less than 60% possession in a match.

The difference is Jose wants to sit deep and sneak a 0-0 draw or 1-0 win. Real sit and wait for a chance, then burst forward and will try and score as many as possible.
There will always be boring periods in games and boring games but Real's ultimate philosophy is, and always has been about fast, lovely football on the deck. Same as Bayern's - until they hired Pep to slow them down, eliminate all competition and bore everyone to tears.

Could it climb a curtain? Cause if it can't you've got a crap rabbit on you're hands.

I don't mind defensive football every now and again. Celtic against Barca for example is understandable because we had literally no alternative. But we don't set out to play that boring and negative all the time, a lot of our footy is pretty slow, horizontal Guardiola-esque *, but that's because we don't have players fast or skilful enough to play passes around with great pace.

When football is at its fastest it's the quickest and best sport on the planet by a mile, I want it to always be like that instead of just boring, slow, *.

I can't understand people who prefer the other way.

It's like watching a boring romcom instead of an intense action thriller.

Your comments are basically what an American thinks about football ('Soccer'). :56:

Pass, pass, pass, side-to - side, pass and pass - they hate that *. :smiley-laughing002:

They need sports to be fast and intense - action orientated.

Don't get me wrong, he's a really good manager and if he keeps it up he might be up there with the Rodgers' and Lennons' of this world :50:

Can't understand anyone who would want it any other way. You honestly prefer slow football? :43::97:

I wasn't having a dig - was just making an observation. Reminded me of that Simpsons episode when they were taking the * out of it.

I prefer fast attacking football, yes. Never enjoyed Barca after Henrik and Ronaldhino left.

That style isnt to play slow football though, it only leads to that because teams sit everyone back.

Like this game tonight, when Bayern get the ball Real Madrid bring all their players into their own half. It's those teams bring all their players back that leads to the slow football.

Guardiola for example would be happy if teams left 3/4 players forward against his team which would lead to more open end to end games but they don't.

Real - Chelsea final. As Andy Townsend says the final the fans want & it will live up to it.

Fucksake we have Real - Chelsea final ehh?

Ancelotti loved his time in England, 'made no secret about it' - never heard him say anything about it tbh?
