    Probably the most realistic depiction of ww2 and very true to the book by stephen ambrose. Sorry if there is already a thread on band of brothers.

    I don't think the pacific was nearly as good as band of brothers. Maybe it was made in such a way to capture a wider audience........or I could just be talking out my * :smiley-laughing002: either way I think Band of Brothers was far superior

    I think Band of Brothers was noticeably better but they were both top quality.

    I might read the books soon.

    Amazing stuff,read all the books i think and passed them on.My fave story was that yank on one of the beaches went from house to house and shot 50 *'s.

    Pacific was very disappointing,started off good but then lost direction.Anyone who hasn't read Stephen e Ambrose get reading,that guy must have don some research.

    Have it on DVD, watch the full series about twice a year. Honestly is my favourite TV/Movie of all time, everything about it is incredible.

    Agree that The Pacific was a great deal worse. You didn't feel the same emotional attachment to the characters.

    Outstanding i have box set and watched it 3 times

    The episodes in forest in Bastogne are my favourites lets you really feel what the soldiers went through over there

    The difference is budget and also Spielberg and hanks were more involved in the first series.

    Believe or not budget for Band of Bros was $125 million and Pacific was $200 million

    A just bought Pacific box set for my old man Father's Day it was only 13.99

    Band of Brothers is great, I'm not the biggest fan of soldiers, but shows you what they really went through, got nothing but respect for the soldiers in WW1/2.

    The difference in budget won't be as high as it looks, one was made a decade later, inflation etc.
