    As the title says, can you guys think of players who have gained a high profile due to one(or 2) seasons alone, then done nothing for the rest of their career(so far if not retired)?

    I was just thinking of Andy Carroll after seeing him getting recalled to the England setup, Now really he has had one and a half good seaosns in his career. Yet that short space earned him a huge move and presumably huge contract finacially speaking. Since then he has done very little.

    Now of course Carroll has years to turn it around...But has their been players who just havent? Who's careers have been carried by just one season, or one short period of good form?

    Who can you think of?

    Was fantastic his first season with us, nominated for an award etc...then it all went downhill from there and despite a good final few months, all in all, barring the first season, He was pretty mince!

    Maybe not a one season wonder career wise...but certainly Celtic career.

    Charlie Adam is a good one, just a couple of good seasons at Blackpool and he was deemed a superstar...thats the nature of English football though.

    Jelavic in England, half season wonder.

    Hutton at the huns, had one good year, hasnt kicked a ball before or since.

    Anderson of Man U, I cant remember him at Porto but he was only there a short time and must have done well with the money they got, hes no kicked a ball since.

    I think the inclusion of Jelavic is premature at this stage...He's only had one poor season. Hutton I definately agree with :50:

    He may have only had one good season at Celtic, But, we need to remember how he earned that move. 128 goals in the previous 4 seasons. Never a one season wonder for me.

    If you meant just his celtic career, then yeah, I'd agree
