Doyle has completely lost his form over the last couple of seasons. Wolves are a club in crisis heading for back to back relegations into the 3rd tier of English football.

Signing Doyle might give him a new lease of life and if he was to play anything like his best from a few seasons back then he'd be a great addition to the club. He'd be worth a punt but only for very little outlay. Is he nearing the end of contract? Also he'd have to take a wage within the structure of others at the club. He's not a star player anymore, it would represent a great opportunity for Doyle to get his career somewhere back on track if Celtic were prepared to sign him.

See tbh, if you offered me a Wolves striker, I'd pick Leigh Griffiths. He's on form, familiar with the SPL, and young enough to make the step up that we'd require of him. Whenever I see Doyle now he looks increasingly unconvincing.

And he's also a proper little weasel fuckbag * - more suited to the huns.

Doyle is a proven international goalscorer in need of a rejuvenation in his career.

Wolves are fast on the decrease and are a club in the * - bring him here and watch a comeback that would be slightly reminiscent of Chris Sutton's, imo.

I would also rather have Griffiths over Doyle.

I would be * off if we signed Griffiths, absolute *.

Doyle, not that exciting but this teams needs freshened up. Wouldn't write him off.

This would be ideal for me, experienced striker, used to British football, Internationally experienced, a big man who can hold the ball up and be a target.

    He also knows Celtic well.

Ive never liked him, very average player whos seemed better because hes played for Ireland compared to English players of similar ability who never played for England like Marlon Harewood, Marlon King, Kevin Davies, David Nugent, Grant Holt, Shola Ameobi, Bobby Zamora and guys like that.

I would take every single player you've mentioned there at their peak as well.

International football does expand your level of experience though, it's experience we are crying out for. He can lead from the front, without doubt, deapite being a limited player.

I'd gladly take him. Decent pace, good in the air, good finisher. Aye, he'd do for me.

What do you mean he's seemed better because he plays for Ireland? :97:

He's scored 12 goals and has been a great partner throughout the years for Robbie Keane.

I agree that him coming here could see him get a fresh injection of life into his game.

Wouldn't mind seeing him in the hoops at all tbh

I think he means that he has had more exposure than the others due to the International stage.

I believe Stokes is more talented than Griffiths. However Griffiths seems to be less injury prone and as a result more prolific. He is a wee bawbag but he is the kind of player you would want in your team in the big games. Maybe even coming off the bench like a nacho novo type. Would give the opposition the fear.

Aye that's fair enough - but he has performed very well during his "exposure".

Marlon King - as mentioned in that list - represents Jamaica does he not?

I don't recall him setting the heather alight.

So would I have but hes past it now. Id have taken him before but now hes 2/3 years past it and on the decline.

Those types of average guys are always about, we'd be better going for one of the up and coming ones like Chris Wood than a past it one.

    Nowhere near the level required.

I thought we were getting past this 'big man to hold the ball up' thing.

Doyle is poor, and would cost a bomb relatively speaking. He'd be the next Darryl Murphy.
