The finances are pretty crazy though, Marcotti pointed out that in a list of the 20 most expensive transfers in football history (that includes a theoretical Pogba to Man U deal) only 1 player there would be older than Higuain: Zinedine Zidane. Also said that when wages are taken into account, assuming Juve get five productive years from him he'll cost 35 million a season, roughly the same as Ronaldo cost Real between his move from Man U and the end of his current contract in a couple of years.

Plus having to alter tactics, shove Dybala out wide, forgo the chance to invest that money in an ageing defence, etc. Obviously he'll score goals for them but hard to justify making him the third most expensive player in football history.

Worth a read in any case.

Why would Dybala go out wide? I'd have thought Allegri would stick with 3-5-2 next season with Higuain and Dybala up front.

Higuain played as a lone front man in a 4-3-3 last season, apparently.

€35 million for Milik is actually beyond a joke. This has to be one of the most ridiculous transfers in my lifetime. He isn't even an undoubted starter for Ajax and nowhere near the first name on the teamsheet. I'm not kidding when I say Griffiths is a better striker.

Its arsenal, their fans will make a few squeaks and then go on to think this is their year, while paying stupid money for a ticket.

Surely not on 1k a week? Not even heard of that team, how the * have they got that to throw around?

no fan of Wenger but he didn't overpay at all for Xhaka, he will be one of the best in his position in a few years.

Does this mean Milik costs more than our entire squad put together?... :56: I swear with the big leagues it's a snowball effect. A club will say to another "well if that guy is worth 40 million, then our guy is too" and if people keep paying those prices then it won't stop.

Rip off. Especially from the Dutch league as well, is that a record?

His goalscoring record there isn't even that impressive either. Finboggason's shites all over it for a much poorer side as well.

Napoli are going to have a tough time, now every * knows they have money. :56:

Tolisso for 25 million pounds as well, they've already spent most of the Higuain cash.

Higuain is the 2nd most expensive player in the world. Ain't even a top 10 player in the world.

Higuiain is a good striker, but worth about half what they paid for him. Messi must be having quite the giggle, as he's a choke that is part of the reason he's quit national team.

The one thing I will say is that there are very few proper goalscorers out there who play as an old fashioned type striker. He is one and has a proven record in that league. His goalscoring record at Real was impressive as well considering he was often in and out of the side.

£75m is still too much but I suppose nowadays who else could they have gotten who they pretty much know will get them goals.

I notice Totti has branded it a 'disaster' :56:

This transfer window has really blown everything out the water. Mad money being spent on absolute * aswell - not just too much like Higuain.

    I mean Milik - for real, €35m
