Suppose having Rangers Management carry Tommy's coffin was a waste of time then?

I know a lot of threads have been closed.

But Tommy Burns tried his hardest to close the divide between "Us & Them".

He & his family went as far as allowing the Rangers Management the HONOUR of carrying his coffin, at his funeral.

An honour which the Rangers Management carried out with great humility & respect.

I felt very humble & inspired by firstly Tommy & his family offering this honour to our great city rivals & also by the way in which Walter & Ally accepted the honour & handled the occassion impeccably.

In the light of this recent low from their fans, I really hope that the Rangers Management show the same respect & honour to Tommy's memory, as he did to the hope of future peace & respect between the clubs - to come out with a full & unmitigating apology on behalf of their fans.

Would like to think so. One thing is for sure tho! The faces of the people responsible are clear for all to see in that footage, i.e. somebody knows exactly who they are...

They should all be lined up and shot for disgracing the name of Tommy Burns. These guys are just lowlife scum, whereas Tommy worked hard his whole life as you said, to get rid of the divide between Celtic and Rangers. Being drunk is no excuse to drag a dead man's name through the mud. Then again, you get used to it after a while with Rangers supporters.

 

Its a fair point, but I still have the utmost respect for Ally and Walter for the way the conducted themselves during Tommy Burns funeral. Neither afraid to show their emotions for someone that was a close friend.

I am sure that they are as disgusted as we are at the pathetic morons that follow their team. I dont expect them to come out and criticise them as they would be out every other day. The fans themselves, if they had any decency (I know, they dont) would govern themselves. Bunch of pathetic *;

None of them could hold a candle to TB.

 

Everyone of us know decent hun supporters and it would be unfair to link hun staff to be anything like the * lowlife in the video. I think if McCoist or Smith had any idea of that clip even they would be totally ashamed.

But I wanted to make the point that Rangers fans have disrespected a man who worked hard to get to know them, so much so that he allowed their Management to carry his coffin - something that they did with great dignity & respect.

Actually can't beleive this! I'm generally quite quite on things when it comes to rangers, as i beleive that while they have scummy fans, so do we. But i genuinely don't beleive that our fans would do that!

What sort of world do we live in where this is happening! Can't actually beleive it! I knew they were bad but this is actually horrible!

Hopefully the R****** management do come out & denounce this. Even after the years I have lived here, still stuns me how deplorable & low the depths that 'their' support will sink to.

 

The Rangers away fans in Lisbon, were being filmed by the Portugese media in & around the usual pubs - some were being interviewed.

The crowd started singing very disturbing & hateful song about Tommy passing away.

I can't put the words in for you, as they are horrible & utterly disrespectful to a person who went beyond football.

I saw the link before it was pulled down, it was the huns singing about Tommy burns. It was incredibly inappropriate. I am presuming the censorship is out of respect to The Burns family.

everybody knows how much TB meant to walter and ally pls nobody think bad of them not speaking out against this - it was a minority an evil minority and no matter what goes on between us there is a level of respect and that was shown at TB's funeral

although it hurts lets keep our dignity for TB and his family and show them the why The Celtic Way is more than just football hail hail

 

I dont want an apology on behalf of Rangers,I want a condemnation of it,and maybe even those supporters identified and banned.

 

It will be interesting to see if the Scottish media pick up on this particularly vile story. I am almost 100% certain that if the shoe had been on the other foot and Celtic supporters were caught on camera disgracing the name of a Rangers' legend, it would be all over the papers quicker than you could say "hun *".
