Statement from Celtic

By: Newsroom Staff on 12 Jan, 2011 19:15
IN response to an SFA statement this evening we find it slightly curious that once again SFA President, George Peat, has seen fit to involve himself by attacking Celtic in this way.

Particularly when there is an ongoing appeal against yesterday's judgement to impose a six-match ban on Neil Lennon.

Taken from celtic website. getting a fiesty and a bit * for tat. wt u think?

The word "curious" speaks for the whole statement.

Peat has an obvious hatred for Celtic, recent events have shown this. He has been posted missing in recent years, yet twice in a short time has come out with anti-Celtic statements.

He is out of office in a couple of months, so his parting shot is obviously to heap as much * onto our club as he possibly can.

Yes, the only way to fight this vile heap of corrupt * is to fire from all cannons. Suing them might be a good way to strike hard.

Is he out of office, or is this part of a campaign to get himself as much publicity, in an effort to ensure his best chance of retaining his position? What he is doing is the same tactic those in positions of authority have been using since time immortal. :31:

Scottish Football is in dire need of restructuring & reformation, and not just the little tweaking that is being currently proposed. Men like Peat are so firmly entrenched in ensuring the status quo remains, because when you exist in a culture that has been set up in you favour & from which you benefit, why would you want it changed?

'Curious' is exactly what it is. Curious is exactly what we are. Celtic is curious as to the mandate that saw Lenny handed a punishment TREBLED that of the one originally issued. We as fans are 'curious' as to how Peat has managed to continue to procrastinate & defend an institution that is rotted with cancer. Curious as to why there has been such little action taken to respond to the calls for transperancy. Curious as to what other oddities have become standard practice within the corridors of power at Hampden?

Curious as to motives and intentions, when one referee has been forced to 'resign' because of lying, and the head of the referees also resigns because of what has been described in some circles as a 'bit of a joke', how can we not be curious as to what else is going on behind the scenes? How can we not be curious when the SFA's own chief executive has talked of needing to review the current processes and procedures, in a hope of transperancy, why others within that same organisation seem to be going out of their way to ensure that this never happens. :triplomur

How can we not be anything but curious, Mr Peat? :47:

I'm always one to try and stop people going on about the SFA and referees, even though I knew it was atrocious. But after Peat's wee dig today and the match tonight I've had enough and am pig sick of all this * we've been getting from the media for being 'paranoid'. They seriously need to open their * eyes and see that this is getting worse. I'm actually at a point of believing there is no point even trying any more :54:.

Good on the club. I would also like them to have an artile about "another strange refereeing display" by Willie Collum. Nothing that will get the club in trouble from teh * but enough so that the press can write about it.

Good that Celtic continue to fight their corner amongst at a crucial time. Never before have we been targeted so vehemently but its high time it stopped for the good of Scottish football. We are one of the biggest clubs in Britain and do not deserve such vile treatment from those who are supposed to maintain a position of neutrality and act in support of its members. It seems in the case of Celtic, a club set up in aid of charitable causes, that this is to much to ask. If the SFA is indeed unbiased then modernisation must come and the blazer system be eradicated once and for all, there is no use in demanding change for the game as a whole then absenting yourself from the process.

This must stop now.

Given the SFA's pedanticness at dissecting every word which comes from Celtic Football Club, does anyone else think that George Peat should have to explain his "You're in trouble now" comment to Biffy Clyro after drawing the Old Firm together in the Scottish Cup?
