    i hope its man marking we have lost a fair amount of goals with the zonal, which i personally dont agree with. Its a dangerous way to defend.

    I'm pretty sure its man marking. Theres not too many managers that actually use zonal tbh. (or i can't think of many):86:

    well in my opinion we should be able to do both regarding who we are playing....if zonal beats aberdeen play zonal.....if man marking beats rangers play man marking.......do what is required to win.

    Couldn't give a * in all honesty, far too much is made of the whole thing.

    Liverpool under Benitez were the Champions of Europe using zonal marking, it does work.

    it works if you have the staff that are suited to that system...one of strachans failures ( and there wasnt many ) was not to recognise our defence were gash at zonal marking.

    I hope its man marking, zonal just clearly didnt work for us under Strachan, but then again Mowbray may go a different way about it if he decides to do it but I would prefer zonal

    Dundee Utd do it to and it doesn't work for them even though their defence is probably the tallest in the UK.

    Dundee United use it too and at times they are very hard to break down. Anyway, late last season the defense finally looked sorted with Loovens in and Artur coming back to a bit of form. The problem was 2 of our 3 strikers had nightmare seasons.

    it might work with top class defenders ...... we have only average
    we conceded too many goals at set peices last season

    so zonal does not work for me:38:
