Bale has done average. I could score 1 in 2 in that Madrid team. :87:

Think you got the names round the wrong way. I doubt any player in history has a highlight reel to match Zlatan's. Dribbles, volleys, backheels, overhead kicks, free kicks, long range shots. Every bit of individual brilliance you could want from a striker and he's done it for the last 12-13 years at about 7 different teams in numerous leagues, all of which he's won, and all of them (except Barcelona) as the main striker in the squad.

    Lahm/kroos/xavi/neymar/pique/ramos/pirlo/schienstieger sp./totti/buffon/vidal/gundogan/balotelli

Is the three levels sort of 1st,2nd,3rd world class imo

These things are impossible to call as it depends on whether you're talking about how good they are right now or how good they generally have been in their career. I love the logic in the article though. Bale's class because he scores one in two for Real, whereas Zlatan isn't one of the best because he failed at Barcelona, where he scored, emmm, one in two.

IMO there's five players still playing right now who've been above the rest. Messi and Ronaldo are the two best, and Xavi, Iniesta and Ibrahimovic are behind them and above everyone else. If it were based on right now then Suarez, Ribery and Lahm (who btw is probably one of about four players who'd be in pretty much anyone's World 11) would be in with a shout, but none of them have done what the first five have. Not yet anyway.

If Suarez keeps improving he'll be a * phenomenon. His technique to control the ball from behind him and get away from his man for the goal against Spurs was unfucking real.

Been outstanding the past 3 seasons. Always thought barca were mental for letting him leave

Doesn't really fit their style, they have cover in that area and tbh he hasn't ben a whirl wind of success in Europe.

I'd stil take him in a heartbeat mind you. :56:

Still wouldn't get a game for barca. They have better and players more suited to their style of play.

They don't have better because it's Neymar, Pedro and Alexis Sanchez who are playing in his area of the pitch. As well as Messi obviously.

He didn't fit their style and Messi wanted to play more central. He's good enough for them without doubt. Anyone who's worthy of a discussion about whether they're in top 5 players in the world is obviously good enough for any team.

The great Zlatan didn't fail at Barcelona. He just didn't suit there style of play. The big man was still good and and scored 16 in 29 appearances which is excellent. A wouldn't call that a fail.

I think it is widely acknowledged that the top three players in the world are Messi,Ronaldo and McCourt and to try and crowbar Zlatan into that top three would be pretty harsh on either Messi or Ronaldo ( depending on which one you left out.)

    Was he? * *.

Truth be told, finishing second behind Björn Borg is no disgrace.
