This morning, waiting for my daughter coming out her work, I watched a fight between a female Blackbird and a Song Thrush. It lasted about 4/5 mins. Don't know who won as they flew away, still fighting. Great to watch though. I also saw my first Tree Sparrow of the year.

Tell you what Spring Migration is very slow, the slowest for years, hardly anything has arrived yet, good news is that when it finally warms a bit and the warmer southerly winds appear there will be a migration rush on:D

For me, it still doesn't feel like Spring. Maybe because it's still freezing.

Watched a Sparrowhawk hunt a Pigeon yesterday. The Sparrowhawk was very noisy doing it as well. It was as if he was telling everyone about his catch.

Two weeks ago today , I saw a Red Admiral whilst I was working . Last week , on two days running , I saw a Red Squirrel . I think that this winter has really dragged on and on . Yesterday it felt warm enough to be naked in my house without having to desperately throw on some clothes , or quickly fire up the heating . It was stated that the " Beast From The East " was caused by the Jetstream moving , and that was due to the temperature above the North Pole rising 40 degrees C' . It has to be partly involved with some sort of global warming . Also I've heard about Pacific Salmon being caught in British rivers , now that's weird in my book .

I wonder if he has ever ate duck , chicken, turkey or pheasant in his lifetime, if so he is a bigger * than everyone first thought. As you know the ducks and pheasant come in my street , i will still eat them in restuarants, also i will not save a bird from the half wildcat that has chosen my garden as a second home. I know he or she is killing birds in it as feathers are lying in the grass.

Pity it wasnt a swan he killed , as i think all swans belong to the Queen
