Went for a a walk earlier along the Thames and popped into Tate modern. Seen people looking up in the air and to my surprise there was a pair of perigen falcons dive bombing pigeons. Apparently the live on top of the Tate. Will return next week with my binoculars as the amount of women in short skirts now the sun is out was a sight to behold

STV had a report on tonight's bulletin saying that the Loch of the Lowes pair of Ospreys both arrived last week ( 3 days apart , male bird first back ) , for the third year running . They were seen tidying up the nest , successfully bringing fish to the nest , and breeding too . If thing go as hoped , there will be eggs in the nest during April . It is worthwhile going to the Loch of the Lowes visitor centre , it is about 3 miles off the A9 , at Dunkeld , Perthshire .

I saw a sparrowhawk hunting down a small bird at Hutchenson Grammar school today. It got itself trapped in the narrow gap between the perimeter wall and wire mesh fencing, and was unable to spread its wings properly to take flight again. Me and the wife managed to gently shoo it down the channel till it got to the end opening and was able to anxiously take wing again. It was a sitting duck for predators in that predicament, so really glad we were able to help it escape, as you don't see many sparrowhawks in the South Side of Glasgow. It looked like a young one close up, so it's going to have to learn quicker to do better to be able to survive :giggle1:

Been there a couple of times. Absolutely superb place for wildlife. Not only for the Ospreys, but for Red Squirrels, Yellowhammers, Beavers. I've never seen a Beaver, but was assured they're there. It's a trip I'd recommend to everybody.
